Chisun Hotel Utsunomiya

Situated across the street from JR Utsunomiya station and very conveniently located. I booked a semi-double room and was glad to have the extra floor space. Actually booked 2 nights and ended up staying for 3. Laundry service available with vending machines and coin operated washing machines/dryers on the 1st floor. Staff speak some English and also offer a Smart Talk iPad translator which could be handy for tourists. As Nikko is a small town, I stayed at Utsunomiya as a base and glad I did. Nikko is about a 45 min ride on the JR line. There are clear markings at the station for which train to catch to Nikko (track 5). The castle ruins are 15-20 walk from the station and the Tobu Utsunomiya station is about 20-30 min walk. For feline fans, I found a quaint cate cafe near the shopping mall next to Tobu Utsunomiya station.

Spent one night here as a stop over. Great location and value for money.

We stayed here on our way to Nikko and were very happy to find this very good hotel. It would have been impossible to find a more convenient hotel as it was across the street from the train station and the shopping center with a wide choice of restaurants along the street and in the shopping center. The rooms were very clean and large with an excellent staff to assist you. Highly recommend this hotel. Just note this hotel is NOT at the sites of Nikko, but is very convenient on your way there. Simply get off the train at Utsunomiya, cross the street and you are there.

Very comfortable hotel with good location. Nice hot beverage sachets such as chocolate, coffee, green tea, etc to select from the counter.

had a wonderful stay , lovely place to visit and very helpful staff ,great deep bath for those who enjoy a deep soak , and some wonderful gyoza ,

I only stayed one night and it was convenient to the station, just across the street

Hotel is nicely located across the street from the Utsunomiya main train station and bus station. I rode on the bus from Narita airport and it drops you off right in front of the entrance of the hotel. The rooms are standard Japan hotel rooms. Not big but efficient for a night's sleep. Everything worked. Room temp was controllable. Room was quiet. Interestingly, the hotel has you pick up free room amenities in the lobby (tea, coffee, facecloth, etc.). Check in and check out were fast and friendly. There is a McDonald's adjoining to the hotel. Many other restaurants and other businesses are within a stone's throw as you can imagine being across the street from the main train station.
