Brook Red Lion Hotel

Location was fabulous. What I loved the most is the Tudor look at the entrance of the building. It was a lovely stay.

Bit noisy as it overlooked the High Street

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The housekeeping ladies were lovely and couldn't do enough. Room was lovely and big and the bathroom was spacious although the shower head didn't work.

My room looked out onto the high street and I could sleep at all with all the noise from the night clubs and the pubs. I did try to ask for a different room but several times there were no staff on the reception so I didn't get a chance and gave up trying. The windows didn't close properly and the radiator didn't work. The lighting in the room was poor too and I had to use a torch to read my book.

The bath was filthy, THERE WAS BEDBUGS! The paint was flaking away in the bath, the floors were stained the mattress was vile and there was next to no pressure in the shower. Absolutely disgusting do not stay here.

Everything was awful.

The location is great. The hotel is very quirky with great original features.

Overall, the room was very clean. There was plenty of dust, cobwebs and rubbish from other room users behind and under the bed. The breakfast was not great either. I think the room prices reflect more on ghost hunting attraction rather that quality of cleanliness.
