BlueBay Lanzarote

After reading the reviews I was a little worried I will be honest…. It was a good value last minute holiday with my friend. Our room was roomy, shower was really good and spacious bedroom. We had kitchen with table and fridge which was great! Food was really good with great choices for all tastes. Drinks were also good with fanta, coke etc on tap (self serve) and alcoholic drinks also varied. A few areas could do with some tlc like some of the pool floor and around the areas but they have started to renovate. If you are worried about the reviews, don't be - I think some people complain on the stupidest things - we had an amazing time and staff were also lovely.

Only real problem I had with the place is the pool is freezing. Put my big toe in once that was enough for me. The place is clean, the staff are nice, beer is great and the food plentiful. Yes chips are available at lunch and dinner and pasta also, there is plenty of choice for even fussy eaters. Cakes jelly ice cream of plenty lots of other foods to choose from. The hotel is 3 star I’ve stayed in worse places and a lot better it’s what I expected for what I paid. All in all it was a great place we went out a lot stayed in a lot , zero problems and zero complaints really, if you want better get the cash 💰 out. This is the second time we have been to this hotel and we will be booking alot more at this hotel as well the breakfast is nice and filling and the different food we had was nice we had fajitas kebabs fish and it all was nice the day time activity's micky and his entertainers do in the day and at night are amazing and keep your family busy with the fun games they have and there so friendly and polite and make you feel so welcome we are we will definitely be goin back

Can not complain one bit, from reception, bar staff, cleaners, restaurant staff but most of all the animation team are absolutely fantastic… had a great time again and will always return, thankyou so much for being a great place to enjoy the sun in!

Stayed at the Bluebay 12 years ago and it was looking tired then sadly it doesn’t seem to look any different to how it did then. Yes it is a 3 star hotel but the pool bar theatre bar and rooms really need a facelift. Rooms spacious but sofa beds are impossible to sleep on I had to put a mattress from the bedroom on top of it it was one of those clic clack designed one fine for small children but anyone over the age of 10 would struggle to sleep. The mattresses are comfortable and the sheets were clean. We had no one clean until day three of our stay ( we were there for 5 days) only 2 towels each changed every 3 days. The shower was good and the air conditioning worked well. Balcony chairs and tables past their best. Entertainment- theatre bar not big enough and acoustics are terrible just makes it unpleasant place to sit it’s dark and oppressive and needs updating. The entertainment team work hard and are a credit to the hotel. Pool area is a bit untidy mainly guests leaving food and spilling drinks feel it’s should be jet washed each morning only saw this on one day. The snacks at the pool are the same which is ok as the restaurant opens for lunch to but the food at the pool bar was pretty much cold most days Pool bar has no atmosphere in the evening and it can be quite chilly sat out there and there is no alternative other than the theatre bar again not an issue for us as we like to go out in an evening despite being AI The pool toilets are not pleasant always a wet slippy floor due to people not drying off before going In makes it really dangerous saw loads of kids fall over on the tiled floor Restaurant- the main restaurant is pleasant and very clean but food is your typical 3 star resort you won’t starve but if food is a priority for you then I would consider somewhere else. Drinks - are ok self service (beer and soft drinks ) at pool bar and restaurant which is great no long queues. Staff - are all excellent very friendly and polite they work so hard. The biggest issue for me is the lack of facilities on check out day unable to book late checkout no courtesy room option so you’re stuck around without anywhere to change or get a shower. I’ve never stayed in a hotel where there wasn’t at least a shower room to book. Costa Teguise is lovely with some great bars and restaurants and a really nice vibe. Sadly the bluebay is somewhere I would not return to as it currently is, the hotel has enormous potential but it’s clear that it’s lacked investment over the years. I would personally look elsewhere as there are better hotels in Costa Teguise.

All around great time. All the activities you could possibly need for entertainment. Staff were lovely, always happy to help. Everyday a different selection of great food. Entertainment staff were excellent, always going to extra mile. Everything you could possibly want on a week long vacation.

From reading some of the previous reviews of this hotel I was a little worried but there was abaolutely no reason to be as it was great! Our room was so clean and spacious and we had a beautiful view, big pool area with lots of sunbeds and a slide and inflatables for the kids. This is more of a family place but the location is a short walk from bars and the beach. The entertainment team were great. Food was good as well just your usual all inclusive things like pizza,chips,chicken nuggets, pasta and meat dishes, desserts and juice/tea/wine or beer. The pool bar has an snack bar where you can help yourself to hot dogs, burgers,ice cream. There is also soft drinks, tea/coffee and beer on tap, if you want a cocktail or spirit you need to order at the bar. Only advice I would give is get a hotel map and you may have to carry your bags up a few flights of stairs so be prepared for that. The hotel doesnt have a spa if you were hoping to pay it a visit. I would recommend and go back!

Just returned from one week stay with family and 21/2 year old Pool needs to be enclosed with a gated area so kids are not able to keep running off down slopes and steps whilst parents trying to relax too! Room balcony never cleaned during our stay and was disgusting! Staircase never cleaned whole stay Kids evening club needs gated security to stop them running out of doors down several steps!! Deffo not child friendly Cleaning needs a massive upgrade! Most staff friendly Found food warm and not hot! If hotel became more child safe I could return but until then I’m afraid it’s a no no! Met some nice people though 😉

Firstly restaurant staff, bar staff and Animation team where amazing, and food in restaurant was lovely, something for everyone, but unfortunately thats all that was good. I understand theres works to be carried out on hotel but our experience wasnt great. We were in block C the ceiling tiles had collapsed outside room, stairs walkways shabby and not clean - so not giving great 1st impression. We did ask to move rooms twice but was just told abruptly by receptionist they were full. Room was dated had musky smell to it, mouldy silicone around shower, metal in toilet seat green and rusty. Bed the mattress had mould spots on as did material bed frame, noticed when sheets slipped off. Underneath bed frame was ripped. Balcony must have suffered water damage as paintpeeling off and cracking, also balcony never swept . Yes we had several cockroaches in bedroom too always under dressing table which I know is just part of being abroad but not nice, I told reception they just gave me a cockroach spray ! Towels changed once in 7 days and sheets were not changed Public areas/ pool and toilets In need of updating, paint peeling off in pool, cracked paths, flooded toilets that never seemed to cleaned around pool, broken taps and toilets in theatre bar. They cleaned pool area and sunbeds on 1st 2 days but not again so was ice cream spills and dirty. Football pitches had ripped nets and not maintained . General up keep was poor . Over flown bins and dirty plates on floor near kids pool when we came in at 6pm and were left like that until next morning when cleaners came in. I understand you get what you pay for and its what you make of your holiday but really hotel needs a total overhaul. And everyones entitled to their own opinion and everyones experience is different but seemed all everyone spoke about was how run down hotel was. No doubt hotel will respond with something different like in otger peoples reviews.

Overall it was a lovely stay . The entertainment team was absolutely brilliant especially for the kids disco . During the day they have plenty activities for both adults and kids . The food was good with a great selection for both lunch and dinner , breakfast was the same everyday but fresh and food . The staff in the restaurant and bar were super friendly and helpful . Both pools were a bit to cold but seems to work when the sun is out . Plenty loungers but some umbrellas were broken . There are plenty floaters around the pool for children . The room was ok but they could do with a bit of maintenance . We had two beds next to each other to make it a double and they were moving like mad . You turn around on the other side in the middle of the night and the whole bed will move . On top of that if you are lucky to have another room above you would hear when the bed in that room moves as well . The cleaning was ok, we got clean towels often and fresh bedsheets, clean floors . The only problem was that we found 2 dead cockroaches ( which my partner has videoed and showed me only at the end of our stay because I would have burned the whole island down if I would have seen them 😅😅😂)
