BlueBay Lanzarote

We are still currently here with a couple of days left. We was worried coming due to the reviews regarding cleanliness and issues with staffing. But we feel what we paid for a 10 night break over Easter has been fine. We arrived at 2pm to be told check in was at 3pm, we went to the snack bar for food but saw other people being given their room card keys. We got in our room and a bed on the leg was broken and there was plaster falling off the ceiling. This was reported to reception and maintenance came within the hour. Food was fine, my boy is autistic so to have chicken nuggets, chips, hot dogs etc meant he could eat fine. Food was warm also no need to warm anything up. Yes the variety wasn’t great but is it ever at all inclusive? Help yourself to soft drink and beer round the pool I like, never a que unless you want a cocktail, spirit etc. We found the animation team very friendly towards our little boy and he loved the mini disco. Couple of issues we had. 1- on check in your given a piece of paper which says not to reserve sun beds, the first week people stuck to this, the second week not so much and people left sun beds all day to go out and nothing happened. 2- the biggest worry. My little one on accident dropped a glass and it smashed cutting his toe. This was 9am. I went and asked reception for a plaster and some wipes, his response was, the first aider is the life guard who starts at 10. He did find me a plaster but wasn’t very helpful. But surely someone else is a first aider on site when the lifeguard isn’t around? Also the way he spoke was almost like he wasn’t bother, he didn’t ask what had happened just didn’t seem to be interested. So if you have an accident etc it’s to be hopes it’s when the lifeguard is around because what happens if not? All in all been a good family holiday, I wouldn’t come back to the hotel but it’s been a fine break.

Just back from our first experience of the Bluebay Hotel in Lanzarote. What a wonderful week we had from start to finish. * Wonderful staff who couldn’t have been more helpful. Particularly the dining hosts who always greeted us with a smile and asked how our day was. * The drinks choice was amazing with plenty of alcoholic and non-alcoholic options for adults and kids. Our son particularly enjoyed the slushies. * There was plenty of options for breakfast, lunch and dinner with enough to keep all the family fed for the week. Every night they had a new local dish to try which was always top notch. * The children’s entertainment headed by Mickey kept everyone entertained and busy during the day. The team of 4 worked their socks off and it showed with how many people wanted to take part in the daily activities. * The location of the hotel meant it was only 15 min walk one way to the local aqua park and then 10/15mins the other way to the beaches and town centre. * Yes the rooms were a bit outdated and parts of the complex could do with a refresh but the rooms were lovely and clean and of a nice size for our family. * If you go expecting anything more than a 3 star hotel room you will be disappointed but you won’t be disappointed with the rest of the hotel. * We did find it a bit strange we had to pay to use the safe in our room but we wanted to make sure our valuables were locked away and safe throughout our stay. * The pool was cold but it didn’t stop our son and so many others using it during the week. Overall we had a wonderful half term family holiday and wouldn’t hesitate to return the next time we visited Lanzarote. Thank you Bluebay for a great holiday

Animation team are great we loved the entertainment

If you're wandering if you've made a mistake booking ...we never regret this place...staff are wonderful and all work so hard. The hotel is a 3 star and is what it says on the tin. From the moment we arrive we love it ! It's a quiet resort where you can take a short walk to supermarket, shops, beaches, Aquarium or you can catch buses / taxis for cheap prices. The rooms could use an update but the star rating clearly indicates this. All the staff are amazing and go above and beyond to help. My child has ARFID and the restaurant team worked with me to find food she would be happy to have. Yes the pool is freezing. Get in, put shoulders under and have fun! Entertainment is family friendly, a little silly with lots of laughs !

Tired hotel needs a uplift along with rooms and accessories Beds and pillows awful very uncomfortable Paint peeling off ceiling like waking up in a snow globe All over bed and belongings no apology took 4 days to sort out Balcony chairs dangerous and rusted sharp metal protruding out There are no lifts all tiled stairs when wet dangerous especially when trying to get 2 cases up to 2nd floor Hotel staff and food really good the maintenance staff are not so swift especially with damaged furniture and room issues Cockroaches in lower apartments hygiene issues And not just because it’s a hot country as Jet2 rep said to an elderly lady The pool area is needing a tidy up and a lot of old loungers damaged and broken Idiots flying round on hired E-scooters and hired mobility scooters very dangerous with kids and elderly using it like a race track Should be banned completely from this area Nice area to visit and not far to walk to main promenade towards beach Take your own Teabags if you like a proper cuppa Water tap for water bottles in pool bar area Easily fill a bottle

Hygiene an issue - witnessed using same water for various rooms, room not swept what so ever - cleaner mopped from balcony to room so lots of hair and other crap from balcony bought in - room smelt of faeces - door frame looked as if it had been kicked in - complex is nice though however food is always cold or luke warm but i can see there has been acknowledgements about it but to date no improvement I'm afraid - including brekkie - great location, lots of beds but we didn't go in peak time - reception staff were ok but restaurant staff are pleasant and made you feel welcome, just got fed up eating cold food and bar staff need to cheer up!!

Stayed here in February, we were a group of 6 adults and 2 kids. This hotel is amazing, all the staff were very friendly and helpful. The animation team are amazing and kept us entertained all week long. We will definitely be back.

My self and my boyfriend stayed her in January and we really enjoyed our stay. We enjoyed the food, there was lots of options for all meals - we were all inclusive. Plenty of drink choices also to have in the day / evening. Too cold to swim but lovely pool area and the bar outside also was good and staff friendly and also good pool bar food too for the afternoon time. Everything was clean. Great price for holiday. Room was perfect for me and my boyfriend, the bedroom was lovely area and the lounge and kitchen very large size and we had view of the bar and the pool on balcony which we likes as sun balcony all day :) Enjoyed the evening entertainment and we made lots of friends with other couples as everyone so friendly enjoying there holidays. We didnt join the day entertainment as we usually went for walk to local beaches and shops and bars which are not too far away - beautiful place to stay in lanzarote. we went on a trip to volcano which we enjoyed and also went on camel rides which was fun. we would recommend this hotel as we enjoyed the holiday

I stayed at bluebay resort with my partner and 3 young kids, and it was the best holiday we have had in a long time. The entertainment was spot on and made our holiday. Micky and the animation, entertainment team was the best. Making us laugh daily and always getting the kids and us involved in activities. Would definitely go back there again.
