BlueBay Lanzarote

Really nice hotel. Friendly staff. Great value. Close to airport so short transfer. Check out was 12pm but we could use the facilities till 5pm. Definitely recommend. Exceeded our expectations. Food was delicious - as a vegetarian I was impressed with the variety each day. All three of us were very happy with food. You can serve yourself with soft drinks, wine and hot drinks- hot chocolate was really lovely. Food and drink always available. Servers are all very attentive. The pool is well maintained and has a very attentive life guard. My children and I loved it - lots of space. We were also always able to find a free sun lounger. There are pool tables for 2 euros. The evening entertainment ranged from Motown singers to Bingo, to Magician to Disney Show which my youngest daughter was thrilled to be a part of - the kids disco each night, and children’s staff are excellent. The beach is a short walk. Rooms are changed regularly and very tidy . Shower was great. The beds comfortable.Our room overlooked the pool area, and despite being close to the theatre it was not noisy. The on site shop has many nice souvenirs. There are shops and restaurants in close proximity however we always ate in the hotel as was such good quality, and plentiful buffet. I have read some negative reviews which are the polar opposite to my views. I would gladly return to this hotel.

This hotel is filthy. Many trip hazards absolutely disgusting. We have just come back from 5 nights & to say we was shocked was an understatement. I’ve got many photos to show exactly how disgusting this place is. Pool disgusting with thick dirty tide mark. Flooring coming away. The list goes on. But photos do not lie. I do not want another family to suffer & have the holiday ruined like we did.

Would never ever recommend, Arrived at 12 , check in was 3, refused to accommodate us at all and were extremely rude , atmosphere was instantly hostile ‘Kids entertainment’ the entertainment staff would pop around the pool once a day, Kids mini disco was repetitive, didn’t start until 8pm ! Rooms are basic I had so many problems getting into my room Daily , the reception staff saw me coming to regular to get the maintenance guys to let me into my room they even knew my room number by day 2! , they struggled themselves to open the door so had to wake my neighbors to hop the balcony to get in . they refused to change the lock on my door after explain this was a daily occurrence , I was shushed by the blonde receptionist lady because I calmly told her this was not okay , I have a 7 year who shouldn’t have to walk up to her room to then have to walk all the way back down with me to get into our room. It rained one day so they closed the pool bar all day even when the sun was glorious 2 hours later we had to walk back into the hotel to get a drink ! Food is absolutely vile , myself and my daughter have had to eat out most days spending an extra £200 I wasn’t planning to spend ! Texas rancho trip , don’t do it !! We went as a family , zoo was full of unkept animals, went into the baby splash pool within 5 mins 2 of our children came back out with cuts all over there legs bleeding , They closed it off until we walked around the corner and it was open again ! Our day cut really short , not even a sorry for our children ! Absolutely disgusting! I would absolutely never ever recommend this hotel

If once a year you come on holiday with your family or friends, it doesn’t matter avoid this hotel! It’s horrible! It shouldn’t be called Bluebay Resort, it should definitely be called “Cucaracha Resort”! It’s extremely disappointing to plan a holiday maybe the only one you take all year bring your family, and end up in a place like this. Cockroaches and ants everywhere! Even if some people say it’s not a big issue, nobody deserves to pay even a penny to have huge cockroaches crawling around at night — especially in the bed where children are sleeping. Not just one, but dozens of them visiting during the night! The mattress was torn. The food is absolutely not worth the money. Avoid it! The reception service was terrible there was no soap in the bathroom for two days. What kind of place is this? Absolutely awful experience.

It was amazing the entertainment staff were brilliant very kind , welcoming people and are always happy to help the view was amazing and it was such a brilliant holiday

We have just returned from BlueBay after 2 weeks for the Easter holidays and already want to return! We went as a family of 4 which included a 3 & 6 year old and we all had the most amazing time. The hotel itself is lovely and always spotless, floors are always being cleaned and cups being collected around the poolside. The restaurant was always immaculate, the staff in there were very friendly and efficient and we never had to wait for a table. The food was always warm and tasty and none of us ever struggled to eat, including our 2 children who have milk allergies. It was very good for the standard child’s eating habits with chips, nuggets, pizzas, burgers and hotdogs every lunch and dinner too. This is the first holiday they have ever been on where they could eat with us. They have signs are out indicating which allergens are in which food which made it a lot easier. They have never eaten so much for all 3 meals and snacks! We made full use of the unlimited drinks and ice cream we had every single day too. Our room was much better than we were expecting. It was always cleaned well daily and was a nice spacious living area. We had no cockroaches or ants during our stay either! The pool was freezing, as we expected from previous reviews, but we still went in every day and the children still had lots of fun, we used the big pool rather than the baby pool though. The entertainment staff are all very kind and friendly and always have a smile on their faces, they were always busy doing different games or activities for the kids club or sports programme. Plus their song and dance they do daily was the holiday highlight! The main lifeguard there is really efficient, he is constantly walking around and checking the pool and offering any help. He was also considerate helping picking cups up whilst still watching the pool etc. we used the laundrette too which was handy and easy to use. The location is very convenient too, it’s close to several beaches, the main ones varying between a 10 - 25 minute east walk from the hotel. The supermarkets are also very close by, one is right by the hotel at the bottom of the dirt track then several more further down along with lots of other shops too. We would also really recommend Texas Rancho as a day out, it was the most phenomenal day! We will definitely be returning to BlueBay in the future and miss it already!

We stayed for a week on an all-inclusive basis, and I can honestly say the food was the best we’ve ever experienced on an all-inclusive holiday. The staff should be extremely proud of themselves—they work incredibly hard, non-stop, all day. During our stay, my son, who is always running around, accidentally ran into a sign near the canteen area. Before I even had time to react, a member of staff was there with ice for his head and eye. They also checked on him later that evening and again the next morning to make sure he had slept well after the bump. That level of care really stood out to us. I’ve seen a few negative reviews mentioning that the pool area is messy or that bins are not emptied, but that was not our experience at all. If anything, I was surprised by how many guests didn’t clean up after themselves, despite there being plenty of bins available, including ones specifically for cups.

My daughter and I came for 4 days and really enjoyed our stay! Our room was big had a double balcony bedroom and a sitting room/kitchen , we went all inclusive the food was great loads of choice , the staff were great worked really hard

Rooms definitely need some work and an upgrade. All furniture is very tired no mirrors in bedrooms mould on walls which was fixed asap. Location is good few bars near hotel but about a 15 minute walk to the main square. Staff were fantastic and always cleaning pool was great. Food good for an all inclusive. Entertainment every night. Value was pretty good.

Just returned from our second lovely stay at Bluebay! Whilst the rooms are a bit tired and could do with a bit of TLC, the staff are all so friendly and welcoming and the hotel is kept clean and tidy. Beds are comfy and the shower is really powerful. We never struggled for something to eat as there were always enough options available, even for kid or people that only eat beige foods! The animation team were really good and our 5 year old son loved the mini disco and the shows each night. There is a great play park within about 6 mins walk from the hotel and a larger, nicer beach area if you walk about 15 mins along the beach front Don’t book this expecting a 5* experience but for a 3* value for money and family friendly friendly environment in the sun, I would definitely recommend!
