Extremely poor location, even for a budget hotel. I felt unsafe the moment I got there for the entire week. Hotel staff are very rude and unfriendly. Charge a lot for wifi that never works. Frankfurt is a beautiful place but my accommodation ruined the experience.

Great if you want to be in red light area

While I don't remember the rooms looking bad, and the location is what it is (downtown and close to the train station, but in a relatively sordid, dirty and unpleasant area), I did have a pretty surreal experience with the guy working at the reception. I had booked my room just one hour before from an Internet cafe because the location was close to the train station and the place seemed inexpensive, but upon arriving to the hotel I was told by the guy working at the reception that he didn't have my booking information, and he simply couldn't get access to it (and it's not like the network was off or anything like that, apparently and for some reason I honestly can't remember, this was just a possibility if you had made a booking very recently). Quite frankly, I am everything but a fussy person, but in the middle of one of the world's top financial centres I found it utterly surreal that I had to spend ten minutes trying to open my hotmail account from the computer at the reception so that we could see the hostelworld confirmation e-mail. After a while, and because hotmail sometimes puts you through a lot of trouble if you try to access your account from an unusual location, we couldn't get the information, so the guy kinda asked us kinda guessed what the price must have been... If after this chaos you're still wondering why I am not giving Hotel Elbe the lowest possible rating...I am wondering that myself. I guess it's just because the room wasn't bad, and we didn't have to pay that much. So if you're traveling on a budget and you don't care if you have to stay in a relatively crappy place, you can still consider it as an option. But if your standards are anything but low, don't stay here.

The hotel is in the middle of Frankfurt's red light district.

Stayed here for a weekend in frankfurt. ..sure, the place is in the red light district and is surrounded by druggies, but to be honest, you get good value for your money here! It's the best place in the district. ..The 3 star rating is however a little too overrated. ..room was ok, better than the other surrounding hotels. ..just hated the pay for Internet deal! Overall, if you in frankfurt on a budget. ..This is a good hotel. ..

For £20 a night each in a twin room I was perfectly well satisfied. Excellent location to the city centre and near the river, and the room itself was simple but almost flawless (luke-warm shower). Only downside was the lack of both German and English speaking ability from the employees, however 24 hour reception meant that it was easy to come and go at all hours. If you're looking for a budget hotel, then I would recommend this one.

One of the worst hotels in the whole city... stink. Full of bugs .. in the elbe street people are using it as a toilete The street full of homeless and druged people . The police sarin is on there every night The service is too low They charge you for internet while its so slow

Very close to the main Frankfurt train station (5 minute walk) but in a sketchy part of the city with urine smell, vagrants outside, etc. It was loud at night as well. The hotel amenities are not great - wifi and breakfast are expensive. Other than the close vicinity to the train station, I would recommend looking elsewhere in this price range.
