Agriturismo La Caraffara sull'Etna

Really beautiful area, authentic farm house, cute/friendly animals and highly knowledgeable and accommodating hosts. They gave us tips on local hikes to do and were easy to talk with. It is evident they are quite enthusiastic about the work they're doing. It was interesting to see how farming in the area functions.

If you're looking for an ultra-comfortable hotel spa type experience, this isn't the place.

If you enjoy nature, this place is truly a gem. Surrounded by endless hazelnut trees and sweet, friendly animals, it's ideal for those who love walking and being outdoors. The accommodation is very basic, just as shown in the photos, so don't expect luxury. It's not the best choice for people seeking comfort or who prefer to stay clean and tidy at all times. The highlight of our stay was the owner—he was incredibly kind and welcoming. We happened to arrive during an eruption of Mount Etna, and he took the time to guide us to a great viewing spot and explained everything about the volcano and the region. I highly recommend this property to anyone looking to connect with nature and experience something unique and authentic.

If I had to give one suggestion, it would be; a better presentation of the food. Although the taste was very nice, especially the pasta.

Ideal location for hiking trip to etna. Very friendly, hospitable host family with love and dedication for running a hazelnut grove in the tradition of three generations of organic farming with respect for plants, animals, people and even the rocks in the old stone walls... Stefano cooked an exquisite three course dinner for us with hazelnut granita. Thank you for a memorable experience including getting woken by eager roosters and followed by goats and a pony. Thank you!

This was an authentic farmhouse stay a 10-minute drive north of the town of Milo on the east face of Mount Etna. It is an extremely tranquil place nestled among the hazelnut trees - rustic, in the good sense of the word. Stefano and Cristina were excellent, responsive hosts. We especially enjoyed the animals (horses, goats, and chickens) roaming around the farm. And the price-quality ratio is unbeatable.

Great, relaxed place with very friendly hosts. Surrounded by wonderful nature and lots of lovely animals. Our children had a lot of fun. We were lucky and could watch the eruptions of Etna in the evening in the middle of hazelnut trees. Unique. Tip: Taste their homemade hazelnut cream for breakfast. Very tasty.

It’s not a hotel—if you’re looking for one, this is not the place for you. We loved the location because it offers an authentic experience that feels like going back in time, to how our grandparents used to live. You’re close to nature, and the people managing the place are lovely. The experience with the animals was great and the location is unique.

We like everything, we will go there again. Only two small notes, the road to arrive at the Agriturismo is a typical country road and narrow. Moreover, rooms are a bit dusty, so not ideal if you are asthmatic.

Our stay at La Carafarra Agriturismo was wonderful! Stefano and his wife were incredibly hospitable, making us feel right at home. The experience with the animals was especially enjoyable, adding to the charm of the place. Everything was well taken care of, and we truly appreciated the warm atmosphere. Fully recommend!

It is a truely magical place where i would love to return with my kids during summertime. And i would love to eat there as well :)

It is rather just managibg expectations: the heating was warming up slowly and being tired after a long day it felt cold in the room, however if one is prepared to it that ia normal on the mountains it shouldnt be a problem.
