Agriturismo La Caraffara sull'Etna

Location is great, kids loved the animals.

Our room was below the room where the food was served and the ceiling is just wood planks, so it was bit noisy in the evening (not late) and morning.

From the moment I arrived at the gate, I was in love with the place. It's located in the mountains, but easy to find. Very tranquil magical setting amongst the trees. The hosts have a few animals wandering around that are very friendly with people and amongst themselves (horses, pony, goats, dogs, cats, goose, and chicken). To me it was heaven :-). I arrived quite late in the evening and was treated to a delicious homemade dinner of local dishes, I felt like a true guest of the family. Cristina told me a lot about the area and history of the house and gave me tips on how to hike to the most magical spot to witness the sunrise and Etna from at the same time, overlooking the vast lava fields. Indescribable beauty and away from crowds. I was literarily on my own with nature. I got a bit lost on my way back, but Cristina was in touch with me, and I eventually found my way back. The outhouse where the guests stay is right next to the main house, super clean with a big comfy bed. There is plenty of space with such a unique authentic design. Everything you need was there. It was super quiet too. I didn't want to leave, but it was a last-minute one day trip. I am coming back for a longer period next time to fully emmerse in this atmosphere of bliss and tangible energy of the volcano in this beautiful guest house. Thank you, Cristina and the family 💕

There is nothing to say here, because I loved everything about the place and my stay

The rooms and facilities were exactly as advertised. Our son loved the animals, and the property was gorgeous.

Place is remote which is the attraction but not far from Etna which we were visiting. I would not recommend arriving late ./ in the dark -- you will have to navigate some hills and small roads -- and don't follow google - ask the host for location (we ended up in next village over and someone had to lead us over). rooms are good size, beds are made out of wood scaffolding used for forklifts (it was cool). good heat (we went in April). I suggest you have dinner before you arrive as there is pretty much nothing you can use (cups, glasses, plates, etc -- you will create a hassle for the hosts). The kids loved all of the animals and bonus - they got fresh eggs for breakfast.

Beds a bit uncomfortable. And some stuff not working

Was a very good experiece for me and the kids to spend time in a farm, very close to the nature and the basics of life, with animals and away from cities and noise + polution. We enjoyed every minute of it.

You have to understand that this is not a hotel, but is an agriturismo. for us was the first time but we did well on the end with some help from the owner.
