Agriturismo La Caraffara sull'Etna

As a nature and food loving family this stay was superb, The roaming chickens, goats, cats, dogs, horse brought an instant smile to our faces. Rooms were warm and very comfortable, if you needed anything (hairdryer etc.) you just needed to ask Cristina and nothing would be too much trouble. The evening meal consisting of fresh local produce some even foraged from seasonal wild growth was just delicious and cooked to perfection, you didn't leave the table hungry that was for sure. Breakfast was simple including delicious homemade conserves bread and cake, after a big evening meal we wouldn't have been able to eat any more!

Beautiful location at the countryside and the friendly animals greet you as you arrive. So serene and peaceful. I woke up early in the morning and sat outside our room, looking at the peaceful view of the hazelnut forest and immediately got the company of a kitten, two goats and a dog. For me, the day couldn't start better! A convenient location near Etna viewpoints and just driving up here from the main road is an experience in itself, so beautiful views. The place was easy to find with Google maps. I bought some of their hazelnut paste and can't wait to make my own Nutella at home, as they served it for breakfast. Strong recommendation if you want a stop to city life, love animals and need a place to stay for exploring Etna:)

The animals will come to your room if you leave the door open! Just a heads up. I didn't mind this at all because I love animals but if you don't, keep the door closed. You might get a friend ❤️

We liked everything.

It was a perfect stay with our kids. They loved the animals there and didn't want to leave and they said to come back again. Beautiful nature, nice and friendly owners. Execelent point for exploring around Etna. Nice village Milo is near to have a good coffe and snack and breathtaking view on Etna and the sea. I recommend to buy something to eat in a shop because restaurants around are closed through the day and open at night. Very pristine stay that you cannot experience anywhere else.

Local home made food and the hazelnut and chocolate spread made from hazelnuts on their farm was divine!

It was a lovely calm place in a great surrounding very close to the main road of etna nord.(maybe 15min drive to mount satorius) I would highly recommend it if you are a lover of natural living and away from mass tourism. Our child could play with free running chicken, duck, goat and cats. We had a great time and both hosts(english speaking) have been very kind and caring. Christine the host prepared fresh hazelnut creme from their own trees for us in the morning and helped us with our trip to the etna. Thanks alot

Very nice agriturismo, good spot to explore the etna. The room is simple but comfortable, and we liked the breakfast with locally produced jams and nutella.

Can be hard to find a restaurant nearby, especially on Mondays
