Agriturismo La Caraffara sull'Etna

Beautiful location on an operating organic hazelnut farm that has been within the family for generations. There is a spectacular view of both mount Etna and the Mediterranean Sea, which is very unique. The environment is serene and very soothing, with plenty of company from a posse of friendly farm animals. We found the room very authentic, comfortable, and cozy. Our experience was made very special by the lovely family who run the place. They were kind and passionate people who were generous with their time, showing us around the property and telling us about its history. We loved the homemade breakfast too. The hazelnut products were the best we’ve tasted. Thank you for the memorable experience.

As others have stated, the facilities are basic but totally comfortable. Shower and towels were very basic but bed was totally comfortable.

La Carrafara is a hazelnut farm, a truly magical place beyond your usual expectations. Cristina and Stefano made our stay really easy, personal and comfortable. Real, down-to-earth people with a real, simple life in this beautiful place, right under the Etna volcano. Caution: This is an active farm, not a "show-off" theatre, for catching quick tourists. This is not a hotel, where you get everything served and square as expected - here you will be surprised by true nature, animals and people. The food, coffee and wine are incredible - some top-class cooking, but without the ugly and sophisticated attitude of expensive restaurants. Be ready for cats, goats, dogs, chicken and a horse regularly running into your room... if that sounds somehow uncomfortable - better stay away from this place ;) We, and our 2-year-old daughter loved it!

Pristine nature, loads of animals, perfect for kids. No fancy facilities, only what one really needs. Really good for disconnecting a bit.

Beautiful location fully surrounded by green hills. Our daughter loved the animals a lot. The room is basic but clean, cosy and comfortable. very friendly hosts! The breakfast, with homemade products, was amazing. We would definitely come back again!
