Inn at Schoolhouse Creek

While the space itself is ‘no frills’… that wasn’t a bad thing… it was what we expected to find, especially in some older beach property lodging. Having two levels was nice, and the cathedral ceiling with the giant windows in the upstairs bedroom was sweet, and when I woke in the middle of the night, I looked up from the bed out that window to see the moon and stars, which was a treat! The price was excellent and we had everything we needed to be comfortable in the space! The sofas were not super comfortable, but sufficient for our needs, but the king bed was very plush! The private backyard had some quite tall grass/weeds, which concerned us at first, but our weimie and her nose, loved just exploring, sniffing and walking through them, and she had zero issues with ticks or fleas! The deck had a decent view of the ocean from a distance, and overlooked a small meadow which teemed with feeding swallows all day and evening, as well as some quail and a deer that visited briefly! The staff was helpful as well when I contacted them with questions. I would definitely come back and stay again, maybe try another unit or cottage, as this was a last minute booking, and everything else was booked full! But we did enjoy the stay in the Pacific View!

Location was perfect. Convenient to highway but quiet. Close to town. Room was large clean comfortable. All expected amenities provided. Loved the jacuzzi. An unexpected surprise. High ceilings. Good light. Staff was responsive to questions and requests.

Litttle I didn’t like. Poor information about the area. Would have liked a ceramic coffee mug rather than styrofoam. Would have liked better airflow.

The Schoolhouse Inn is just a wonderful place to stay, it’s quiet, calming and rejuvenating. We absolutely love our room. We try to get the same one every time we go. We love the fact that we can take our dog with us. She loves being there. And the staff I cannot say enough about them. They’re so kind and courteous they reach out to you to get you anything that you need. And the complementary bottle of wine is a very nice touch…

I very much enjoyed my stay in the garden room bungalow. The privacy it afforded me was just what I was seeking. I was so happy to have my dog welcomed as a guest and a friend and not as a burden. I can’t wait for my next trip there. The Hot Tub in Room was just what I was seeking to soothe my soul and renew my body.

The location is absolutely beautiful — you get the ocean and the redwoods in one perfect view. It’s such a lovely, peaceful place, and I would definitely stay here again. The only hiccup was that the third‑party booking site made it look like our cottage would have a kitchen. While the Inn does have kitchen units, the one we stayed in (Tansy Cottage) didn’t, and all the kitchen cottages were already booked. Thankfully, there was a Weber barbecue right out front, and we ended up cooking our meals there instead. Everything worked out in the end, and we still had a wonderful stay.

An excellent inn! Very comfortable bed and room, my boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay. Also had great wifi.

The cottage was comfortable, clean, and well kept. I enjoyed watching the sunset from the sofa, and listening to the sea lions bark off in the distance. The bed was super cozy and clean.
