Kata Palm Resort

The hotel was booked through AGODA, but upon arrival it turned out that the reservation did not exist. They charged us for one night, which was as much as half the stay. I absolutely do not recommend it.

I had a really enjoyable stay at Kata Palm Resort. The rooms are very spacious (much bigger than typical European hotels) and the air-con worked perfectly in Phuket’s heat. The pool areas create a classic tropical resort feel and are ideal for relaxing after the beach. I stayed in the Superior Royal Blue Wing and was thoroughly impressed. The location is convenient — close to Kata Beach, restaurants, and local shops — making it an easy base for exploring while still feeling calm. Breakfast had a good variety , with different options across the five days I was there and staff were friendly throughout my stay. The hotel isn’t ultra-modern and some areas feel a little dated, WiFi in the room was quite patchy, but everything was clean and comfortable. Overall, a very good stay and a great choice if you want a relaxed Thai-style resort rather than a flashy luxury hotel.

We had a lovely stay at this hotel. Our room was a swim up pool room close to the pool bar. Our room was quite large and had a roll top bath and shower. The breakfast had quite a selection although my only niggle was cold bacon. The omelette were fantastic. The staff were helpful and kind. I would stay again

I turned up at this hotel on the 26th Jan Unfortunately they didn’t have my booking apparently they stopped trading 2years ago with my agent AGODA unfortunately they was fully booked ,but can I please like to praise the receptionist MEAW ,she was just so nice she done everything she could to help us ,it took us 3 hrs to sort and find a new hotel she bought us drinks over ,lent us her phone got us phone numbers and waited till we was sorted then organized a taxi for our new hotel A amazing young lady a credit to your hotel Thank you so much MEAW ,guys please be aware if you have booked through Agoda has it still has this hotel on their website

We are currently on day 5 of a 27 day stay staying in a pool access room at this 4 star hotel. Location - perfect. Although Kata is very busy, there are many bars and restaurants, street food and massage, and shops just outside the hotel. There are local buses to take you to Phuket town or Karon and Paton very cheaply. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and although busy, it is long enough to not feel hemmed in. When we were there yesterday there were some large waves that knocked us off our feet, so I am hoping that is not the norm. No need to take food or drink to the beach. There is so much delicious street food that costs pennies. Hotel and staff - the grounds are beautiful and atmosphere tranquil, despite being full. My experience of the pool near our room is that it is very clean and the pool boys do a great job with a smile. The swim up bar is not busy, which actually suits us. The water is lovely and warm once you get over the initial shock 😳 . Other reviewers have said that the staff are not smiling and helpful. We have not found that the case. We have found that if you treat any of them well with a smile and a friendly word or wave, you are rewarded with the same. We have noticed some residents are very rude to staff so shouldn’t then expect a warm welcome. Our housekeepers are happy, smiley, helpful and efficient and our room is always clean. Room - our pool access room is large and well lit with everything you need for example: a fridge with an ice box, bottle opener, cotton buds and beautiful toiletries. We have a big terrace with 2 sunbeds and a table and chairs. Food - we have only eaten breakfast here. It is sufficient and far more variety than I would have at home. The staff keep the breakfast room clean and well stocked (apart from teaspoons! 🤣) Even better if: I would have rated this hotel 5 out of 5 but for a couple of things. These have not ruined our holiday and actually probably justify the 4 star official rating rather than 5 star. We would have liked to have had cushions on our terrace furniture. The chairs and sunbeds become quite uncomfortable after a day of relaxing. Breakfast is plentiful, well cooked and varied. However, it could be improved by serving proper juices instead of watered mixes. Maybe a better assortment of cereals and fruits. We are looking forward to the next 22 days 😄

Went to Kata Palm Resort for approximately 3 hours before getting a Bolt back to Krabi, the reception staff are very abrupt and rude telling us to WAIT, only wanted to pay to upgrade the room, but all I got was WAIT, didn’t get an upgrade, waited 3 hours in 34 degrees to finally get a room in Superior Royal Blue Wing, let me tell you there’s nothing Superior about this, the rooms view was a wall, the corridor was about 500m to get to the dungeon block, definitely not staying here, so wasted a day travelling from Khao Lak to then go back to Krabi where we got a pool access room at Deevana, I do not recommend Kata Palm Resort

On our arrival to the hotel their was work going on out the main entrance, which we were aware of , staff were friendly, we did notice some hoilday makings were given a welcome drink, unfortunately we were not , found that very odd ! The lovely lady Raychaporn / Pauline was so kind to us both explained everything to us , and give us a card to show the hotel area with in , and our room was , we did have to wait 15 minutes or so due to rooms being cleaned which is understandable, When we were taken to our room the young lad was very good taken our cases to our room , which was the other of the hotel having e to say , what a long walk , unfortunately that was not a good start to our final destination in phuket, when we got to our room it was beautifully presented, but unfortunately again opened the slide indoors onto balcony and we were looking at walls and other guest rooms , I was so upset in tears 😢 to be honest, has we were told our last hotel was a upgrade and sorry thats no upgrade in our opinion . I went back to reception which was a long walk once again and explain to Pauline was emotionally that I was not happy with the room and view explaining that this hoilday to Thailand was a very special holiday for my partner's sixty birthday and I am so upset, she was very sympathetic and understood.she did try looking for another rooms .But unfortunately , there was a high demand at the hotel she did find one room in the same area but one floor up I did go and have a look but again same view sadly 😥 this area was the blue wing Pauline did say If anything comes up she will definitely let us know , which was very kind of her , Well we did eventually get a with mountain view that evening which we could not thank her enough .😊 but we still did not feel it was a upgrade being so far from the hotel entrance pools and breakfast area , so unfortunately our last 5 days of this very special hoilday staying in this hotel was a shame knowing our upgrade did not happen, the pools the hotel and breakfast the thail staff are amazing especially Pauline beautiful soul thank you mark and dawn oh I put pictures of both views so you can see

Best place in Thailand I’ve stayed amazing hotel and staff were excellent already booked again for next April situated right in the middle of everything beach 4 minute walk bars restaurants on your doorstep

We really enjoyed our stay at Kata Palm. The hotel is very well located, clean, and feels safe. The staff were kind and welcoming, and the property has a relaxing atmosphere. It was a great place to stay, and we’d be happy to return.
