Kata Palm Resort

We stayed at the Kata palm resort between 15th and 30th June. We are family of 5 spilt between two superior rooms. The rooms were spacious and beds extremely comfortable. Staff at the hotel were extremely friendly and welcoming particularly the housekeeping staff who would always greet us. Pauli/pauline on reception was especially helpful and friendly towards our 8 year old son. We loved the pools which were spotlessly clean and well maintained. Location of hotel is perfect with lots of restaurants and night markets nearby. We enjoyed breakfast and always found something to eat every day. There is building work at the moment however I noticed that the hotel carefully placed guests away from this work to avoid any noise or disruption. Plenty of taxis outside of the hotel and often these were cheaper than using the grab app. We booked trips from the lady in reception and I was impressed with prices she gave us.

Wow, wow, and more wow! This resort really holds a piece of my heart! My mother and I stayed here in May in a pool access room. A real splurge for us and it did not disappoint! We LOVED the place. The only downfall was that the lift wasn't working and my mother struggled with the stairs but other than that everything else was perfect. Good buffet Brekky, amazing grounds and numerous pools, stunning greenery made it a beautiful and secluded place to relax. Can't wait to come back again! Well done everyone and a special shout out to our room cleaner Jaeb Jaeb, you made us feel like family!

Hotel is in a good location easy access to bars and restaurants and the rooms are fairly clean. these are the only good bits. I wouldn’t bother eating at this hotel, you may enjoy breakfast if you like noodles rice and curry but there was nothing to cater for anyone else. We both got food poisoning from there eggs a doctor confirmed eggs were the most likely course. They were not cooked properly and some were just left out for extended periods of time. They also do not wash out the pan after cooking meat so cross contamination is likely. The hotel was of no help over than stating to us how can we prove this, and over 300 people eat eggs. Anyone who works in the food industry will know it only takes one undercooked egg to course poisoning. We paid extra for half board but the dinner is a set menu with small portions and bad quality food that tastes like it’s just been heated in a microwave I wouldn’t bother. The fitness suite was really small weights only went up to 15kg and one of the treadmills was broken so I wouldn’t bother with this either. There is also no entertainment of any kind at this hotel. Overall poor won’t be back.

On of my fav hotel In Thailand.Beatifull pools/lazy river,room in blue wing spacious but could be cleaned little bit more (dust on floors).NO bed bugs (ignore that previously bad revivew).Loads of Russians travellers,they can be lound.Breakfast-plenty of options for everyone.Used Grab/Bolt to travel between towns-cheapest option.3k thb deposit paid in cash when check In-given back on check out.Print hotel voucher/bookins before travel.

Perfect location lovely hotel We got to the hotel late at night staff waiting at reception Was shown to our room The hotel itself is in a perfect location, rooms very large and spacious The hotel is on the main road but set back. Not noisy at all, the rooftop pool I think could do with more sun loungers as if you get up there after 11 all the sun loungers are gone. You can’t put your towel on the floor because of the heat it’s too hot, breakfast lovely we only had breakfast as we like to get out and explore, info desk and trip desk very helpful and good prices. We was getting a regular taxi with these to karon beach ( 150 baht each way) karon beach is much much nicer than kata beach, I’ve stayed Karon before and just like this beach, try the fresh corn from the beach sellers 60baht nice snack when your feeling peckish but don’t want to ruin dinner, if you want to look for tours check out adam Phuket tour on Facebook. We use them each trip we come English is very very good too. Take a trip to the kata night markets also. But it gets very hot and you can spend a good few hours in there if you want to look properly . Don’t be afraid to haggle. But be careful as some things in the market you find cheaper in 7eleven so just be mindful I’ve already booked to come back the land of smiles you will have the best time I would of booked this hotel again but doing Krabi Koh lak enjoy your stay

I cannot overstate how awful our experience at Kata Palm Resort was. From the moment we entered the room, we knew something was wrong. We found bedbugs — not termites, as the hotel later tried to claim. We are not inexperienced travelers, and we know the difference. This was a clear health hazard. To make matters worse, the bedsheets were stained with blood, not paint as the hotel falsely insisted. These stains had clearly been deliberately concealed, showing a disturbing lack of transparency and cleanliness. It was deeply unsettling. We contacted Expedia immediately. They reviewed the situation and agreed a refund was justified, but told us they needed the hotel’s approval to proceed. The hotel refused, citing a “no refund policy” — as if that should still apply when the conditions were uninhabitable. While the staff offered a polite apology, there was no meaningful accountability. The apology felt empty when paired with denial and inaction. We travel often and have stayed in all kinds of places, but this was among the worst. If you value your health, peace of mind, and honest service, avoid Kata Palm Resort at all costs. There are far better — and safer — options nearby.

Excellent stay, first time my partner has been to Thailand, the hotel made my experience one to remember for my partner, a big whooo when we walked into our room with welcome gift and flower, fruit, thankyou for your hard work and effort. The hotel is very central in kata and as a base I would recommend, all three pools were great, the grand deluxe room was great, cleaned every day, clean towels and pool towels daily, staff all friendly and helpful would recommend and go back if I was going back to the Phuket area.

Had an amazing time with my family. Firstly, ignore all the negative reviews on here from miserable people just trying to find faults. Our experience was that the staff were wonderful, helpful and happy. The pools were great and so warm with beautiful views, out daughter loced th so Much. We could always find a sunbed no matter what time of the day and the swim up pool bars just lovely to sit at and enjoy a drink in beautiful surroundings. I personally loved seeing the wild parakeets flying in and out of the trees. Our room and the one my father in law stayed in was lovely, we had a nice view over a side street (1412) and my father in law had a room that accessed the pool. Also loved the room decoration from the staff for both my birthday and my father in law’s, such a lovely and thoughtful gesture from the hotel. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to Kata beach with great places to eat and drink along the way. We really enjoyed KIRI Burger and Bowl as well as Super Surf bar which was located on the beach front and great to watch the sun set over the sea. The Lanai bar is also nice to sit at of an evening and watch a fire show on the street. I would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Kata for their holiday!

Very friendly staff, very clean Resort We were lucky to be given the upgraded Pool access room 1150 it was beautiful as we left 10 more rooms have been closed to undergo refurbishment. They are gonna look fantastic. Very good for price again I can’t comment on how friendly the staff are anymore Strongly recommend you take advantage of the laundry service Great location for exploring around the area and it’s access to many decent restaurants I would happily stay again

The location of this hotel is fantastic - right in the centre of Kata - set back from the road meaning noise is minimal. The hotel itself is a little rough around the edges in places but it was comfy, the staff were lovely and shops, bars and restaurants are on your doorstep. The hotel has 3 pools - we used the rooftop as it was quieter, the others tended to be busier and the water like a bath! All pools had a jacuzzi area. There was a swim up bar at the main pool and a separate bar at the rooftop. The room we had was basic but comfy, the mini bar although not included was reasonably priced. Housekeeping were good and brought us extra pillows. The bed was pretty uncomfortable- it was 2 singles pushed together and a ridge on the mattress in the middle made it hard to sleep on. The breakfast was not great but that’s just my opinion. We wanted somewhere central and cheap, this ticked the boxes.
