Location

Room was warm-Humidifier was full when we checked into room. Emptied it and was full in the morning.

Historic property in picturesque setting. Fairly comfortable. Bathroom nicely renovated.

Small rooms. Narrow stairs. No elevator as expected in 250 year old building. $$$

The grounds are beautiful

The person who checked us in was not friendly. Couldn't find my reservation. Kept me standing for a while, while she's on the phone. Instead of confirming my reservation she made me call booking.com with zero support. Her supervisor came and fixed the situation.

Location, shopping

Rooms are filthy and infested with bugs. Rooms not cleaned properly. Dusty, dirty, musty, poor air conditioning. Bugs in bedding. Bathroom filthy. Complained to staff. Housekeeping only changed sheets, trash and towels. No other cleaning or disinfecting.

Front desk staff was great, lovely location, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the cottage.

I think that it would be a nice addition for the hotel to have a small area to sell staple items like pain meds, toiletries, and the like. The surrounding area does not have a drugstore that is within walkable distance and the gas station nearby does not have much as far as basic supplies either. I also wish there was a bottle filler/water fountain to refill our bottles. But, again, we LOVED our stay. These are just suggestions for the fute.

The location.

Upon arrival at check-in, the hostess was unfriendly. " OH, you're off booking.com? Sign here. Don't put the A/C under 70 degrees. Here are your keys." I felt as if we were looked down upon for using booking.com. We requested a non-smoking room, but we still smelled cigarettes pretty strongly. We are unsure if the room next to us was smoking or if the room was previously smoked in. Needless to say, it was disgusting. We have never experienced a stay here like this before. We were unable to sit at the bar, due to the wedding taking place. We had to eat elsewhere.

Shame no breakfast or on-site bar or restaurant & appeared closed on arrival, all doors locked mid afgrrnoon!
