Econo Lodge Freeport - Brunswick Area

The room smelled of cigarette smoke bad, the door did not seem very secure, the bathroom fan sounded like a bad muffler on a car, the sheets appeared stained. The police showing up to the room next door on the Wednesday morning was very unsettling. I checked for rooms available in the area but there was no availbility that allowed dogs on a short notice. I should have complained to the office but my husband and I were not sure what they could have done differently. We loved the area of Freeport but would never ever go back to that Econolodge.

the location was good. the hotel was good. Clean but older. Staff very pleasant, breakfast good.

I recently stayed in Room 205, and unfortunately, my experience was not great due to a serious issue with the in-room AC unit. The unit had a mechanical malfunction that caused extremely loud noises during the cooling process—almost like a tractor starting up—which would trigger every 45 minutes throughout the night. This resulted in a completely sleepless night during the summer heat. I informed both the owner and the receptionist about the noise, but the issue was taken lightly, and I was told to "deal with the sound." The noise level was high enough to feel like a health hazard, and even now, my ears are still adjusting from the disruption. On the positive side, I appreciated that the room was spacious, well-painted, and equipped with a working TV, bathroom, refrigerator, and microwave oven. The food was served hot, although there were limited options. Given the discomfort and the fact that it was not a healthy environment for rest or sleep, I would like to request a partial refund for my stay. A comfortable sleeping environment is essential, and unfortunately, that was not the case here. I hope you can look into this matter seriously so future guests don’t have to face a similar experience. But still I recommend this hotel for friends for location and local things proximity.

I liked the price and location

Cops were there when we got there and the guy put us in a room right where they were. The room stunk and the windows couldn't be open. The ac in the room is awful. There's not even one seat outside to sit. No place to change in private because the bathroom is too small and there's no door on the sink part. The breakfast was a joke and the coffee is horrible. In the room it's not even a pot and in the main lobby it's a pain to get and is awful.

The place was not freshly cleaned. Stated pet friendly, but I was told to leave my pet outside and to come in to register. There was a musty odor in the room. The place had very limited staff. Breakfast was unimpressive. Worst place I've ever stayed. Surprised Expedia would recommend it. They did not provide me with a receipt for my stay at check out.

Check in was fine but we were upset with check out guy. We explained him our concern but he did not seem to care about our complaint about noise. He said he was not there last night. A group of people, don’t know hor many, drank in front of our room and talked loudly derogatory language involving sexual content. I did not want my 10 year old son to hear this. Called reception and receptionist spoke to them twice but they kept doing the same thing shortly after receptionist went back. Not only did we feel disturbed we also felt intimidated. They used front of our room like a gathering please to drink and have night club conversation.

In-room refrigerator and microwave and coffee maker. Comfortable bed and pillows. Heater/air conditioner soaked well!

Toilet paper was TERRIBLE! If you stay at Econo Lodge bring your own TP!
