"Should win acclaiming awards for being the worst hotel"

2.0

How is this place still opened? Our experience was pretty terrible and we left two days earlier. For this price buy a nice tent and go camping outside. We went during winter with a pass to all the amenities and meals, only to find out most of them were closed like the gift shops, hair salon, spa, sauna etc or broken like half the arcade games or you had to pay extra like the ski slope or tubing. Indoor pool times were made up on the spot. Literally the one old lady in the water at 10 am told us to get out the pool area because it doesn't open til 11am. We searched for other employees around this abandoned creepy place and when we finally found someone who worked there, they didn't know when the pool opens. The food was stale and nothing was fresh about it which was sad because they are so close to NYC. In the evening we wanted to get some wine and they only had Barefoot, thats probably the cheapest gas station wine out there. Now for the room, we stayed in the hotel area not the time share. It smelled like mold to the point that me and my husband were coughing and nothing worked inside the rooms. The lights flickered, no working phone which means you have to physically walk to the front desk to ask for anything, found lots of dead bugs on our floor which than made me question if anyone actually cleaned our room. Each bed had one thin blanket which obviously sucked cause it was winter. The windows didn't seem to close properly so we had a draft and Im not going to lie I was a little concerned for our safety here because we were on the first floor. When I decided to give my toddler a bath, we turned on the jets and of course black crusty things came shooting out, so bath time was over. When my husband wanted to shower he had to go out of the shower to get shampoo and body soap because its in a container attached to another wall on the opposite side of the bathroom. Make it make sense. Now for the noise, I love kids but at 11 pm you could hear everything, kids running down long hallways both next to your bedroom wall and on the ceiling on the second floor hallway. Yes, you can hear your neighbors TV as well. We also had two barking dogs across from our room, who happen to bark every time a kid ran. When I had enough and asked the front desk to move us to another room, they looked confused and claimed no one was supposed to be in our room. At this point we realized employees here don't know what they're doing nor do they really care and we asked to check out early. The employee wasn't even bothered, I asked him aren't you wondering why we are leaving early? and he said no its okay, like this happens all the time. To top it off, we weren't even allowed to pull up our car to the front of the hotel to move our bags and the front desk guy said they were short staffed so the employee couldn't offer to help us. We don't mind a walk but there was so much snow and ice to get to the parking lot. This place just sucks, for their price I have no idea how they are opened and how they can call themselves a resort.

"Battle of sole guests vs the organized groups"

2.0

Profile: Family occupying 2 rooms during the week of 1/19. Pros: Villa Roma did the right thing and refunded our money in full. The pool was ok when accessible and void of the organized groups. Cons: They "accidentally" booked us during a week where they have organized groups gathering for the week. One of these groups were commingled on the same floor we were. It was like being in the middle of the set of "Animal House" with rude and loud awakings throughout the evening and early morning hours. The hotel was barren of any guests so we were the only ones in the dining room. Many activities were closed or barren of content. The whole expereince was marginal that we left a day earlier than planned. Much of the equipment of the gym was in desrepair or aged. Like most reviews, this place is dated.

Villa Roma is a beautiful place with entertainment available every day, all day, for people of all ages and interests. The food is delicious, the service is excellent, and the staff are friendly and welcoming. The views are also lovely, the room nice and clean. July of 2025

Free breakfast buffet was very good. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Resort needs repairs. Rooms need updating. Gardens need attention to weeds.

Room was clean

Outdated. Walls were very thin, was able to hear the neighbors blasting music and having intercourse. Every moan and scream. No working vending machine. No hot water in morning.

"Great family vacation"

8.0

This was our first time at this resort, decided to take my 2 boys and their 2 best friends during Christmas vacay. We were pleasantly surprised but how many indoor activities were offered daily. The rooms are a bit outdated but we really didn’t mind because they offer daily housekeeping which was a huge plus! The grocery store is only like 8 min away and a full kitchen allows you to save on meals. The shuttle allows everyone to be able to go wherever they want without having to walk in the snow. The boys want to come back to do all the outdoor activities so we just booked July 4th week to return.
