Vasia Resort & Spa

I went to the Spa which is on the Vasia Hotel Grounds. I would honestly say the prices were more expensive then a massage I can get in London but I do have to say Anna providing great customer service and received some of the upper neck/shoulder tension. The massage is so relaxing you just want to go to sleep. Overall the staff are friendly and welcoming. You get Spa slippers to use , towel and a robe. There are showers , shampoo and shower gel which you can use in the changing room.. For a resort abroad if you want to treat yourself then go ahead. Other treatments on offer, it is best to book in advance.

Overall very friendly personnel, great food, tidy place! Just one thing what was wondering us: Why did they build these wooden bathroom doors? You could always hear the "interesting noises" from your family members when they were in the bathroom because the door is so thin and you can even look through it...

Overall we were very happy with our stay here. The hotel is situated in the large village of Sissi and is a short (but steep) walk from the small harbour / rocky beach. Our room was a good size and excellent - very comfortable and immaculately clean. The food was varied and particularly good for me as a vegetarian - all dishes being clearly labelled. Plenty of meat and fish for my carnivorous husband! The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful, with the sole exception of one rather frosty receptionist, who was just about civil but not friendly. Everybody else was lovely. Negatives - the bathroom door was louvred, which afforded no privacy. The restaurant was rather sterile and needed some sort of local touches, and some colour - it didn't feel at all Cretan. It was also very noisy. The evening entertainment was as expected - we didn't stay long! We are not pool users, but we gathered that the water was very cold, and very few people were using them. Don't forget to take bug spray etc - we were both bitten in spite of using it regularly. These are only small negatives - please don't let it put you off - you will have a very enjoyable stay here.

Landestypisch gute Unterbringung und Ausstattung. Personal freundlich und hilfsbereit. Zimmer großzügig und sauber. Klimaanlagen recht laut. Meer in unmittelbarer Nähe, sehr schön. Hauptsächlich Steinstände, aber kostenloses Shuttle zu schönen Sandstränden vorhanden. Wir waren zufrieden und haben uns gut erholt

We were upgraded to a two bedroom apartment with private pool - that worked perfectly for our family of four, seemed like a better option than the VIP Maisonette with pool we had booked, those pools looked small and very close together when you saw them 'in real life'. Very happy with that upgrade and would definitely recommend spending the extra money on that. Kids pool and pool with water slides next to snack bar (hotdogs, fries, burgers and ice cream) and away from main pool and restaurant so you could avoid it if you wanted to :) Food in main restaurant was surprisingly good, lots of options. Staff was friendly. 30 min. yoga/stretching session by a small pool overlooking the sea each morning after breakfast was heaven. There were different classes in the gym but didn't bring my shoes so couldn't go.

The soft drinks were not good, sugar free coke was undrinkable and juices way to strong and synthetic. We figured out we could order Grenadine with ice water and that was similar to more Nordic style lemonade that our kids could drink :) beer and white wine was fine. The place had everything we needed, but our room was quite old and worn. Not enough electrical outlets and a lot of ants coming in from the terrace. Cleaning staff didn't clean the terrace so that might be a contributing factor... They didn't fill up coffee regularly in the room. When staying more than a week, you are invited to eat at one of the hotel's a la carte restaurants. There are two options - a Mediterranean restaurant and a Greek restaurant. The Mediterranean one is rooftop and was fully booked, but we got a table at the Greek restaurant for my husband's birthday. That was one of the worst meals we have ever had - on any vacation we've ever been on! The restaurant is on the hotel property and very small, the food seemed to have been brought down from the main buffet restaurant with 'chefs' just plating it up. No kid options at all. Swordfish and souvlaki completely dry, we were unable to finish it. We skipped dessert (as did other tables) and went to the main restaurant. So, I would highly recommend avoiding that option!

Friendly and accomadating Staff. Good food. Great swimming pools.

You have to travel about 5 km to find a decent beach. Shuttle bus to beach early in morning and back in evening. No local bus to beach.
