Hotel is lovely, in spite of other reviews the food was good with loads of variety. The hotel is overrun with loads of children, the pool area for children was full then I go to the pool mainly for adults and the noise was terrible. Too many sun beds too close to each other. We decided to catch bus down to beach everyday to get away from the noisy children.Anastia in the bar in the hotel was fantastic nothing was too much trouble for her, a lovely person who worked hard.

Resort was very good and catered for everyone. Excellent restaurant with good choice of food every mealtime. There was a plan food bar for children which could also be used by adults if you are a plan eater. Staff very attentive and friendly in restaurant and bars. Choice of swimming pools so if you don’t have children you can be peaceful in the sun. Children’s pool was great with slides and a toddler poo for the little ones with their own slides and waterfall. Great snack shack and bar next to children’s pool with constant snacks and ice cream. Good choice of alcohol and great cocktails. Family rooms were very good with 2 full size bedrooms and a reception area. On suite bathroom in one bedroom plus a good size family bathroom. Clean and bed linen and towels changed regularly. Pool towels provided. There were two other restaurants you could have a meal in as part of your holiday booking. We tried the Greek restaurant but were very disappointed. Service was very slow and the food wasn’t as good as main restaurant. In fact it was sub standard and disappointing. Should have tried the Italian restaurant. Kids club was well run and our grandchildren loved the activities and the staff. Entertainment was ok with kids disco 3 times a week and then adult show followed disco. Not West End entertainers but ok for a holiday resort. We had a lovely holiday which was enjoyed by children, parents and grandparents in a very well run resort. Would definitely recommend it for family’s or adults alike. We would go back again if we were the travellers who return to a holiday destination.

We stayed here for a week in June and thought the hotel was good. I don't think anyone from the UK would class it as 5 star, though. Maybe a 3 or 4 probably. Our room was a suitable size for us and it beside the kids pool, at least we didn't have far to walk to the Cotton Club. We found the staff very friendly and it looked like they worked long hours as it was the same people throughout the day and night. We didn't have a problem with the food on offer as there was plenty to choose from. Not a lot of entertainment but I suppose it's still early in the season. We took the hotel minibus to the beach at Malia and liked it there. Dropped off at Paradise Beach and then picked up a few hours later. There is a nice harbour not far from the hotel where there are bars, restaurants and some local shops. Also we walked to Boufos beach from the harbour area. Knossos shopping centre next to the hotel was reasonably priced and had a good selection, that's also where we went on the 1/2 day trip with George on the Happy Train which was good. I would recommend going to Amelia Taverna for some food as it was really good and very busy. We did have a good time here and the hotel was fine for us. Also you need to pay €15 for each night you stay for tourist tax or resort fee, can't remember what it was for. I think it goes on star rating of hotel and also to pay if you need a late checkout.

We were very disappointed with the quality of the hotel considering the cost. The waiting staff are very friendly and helpful but we had a lot of other issues. The variety on offer in the buffet restaurant was very limited and repetitive. Especially at lunchtimes when in this heat we did not wish to eat hot stews. I was told at reception that only the restaurant was open. This turned out not to be the case but by the time we knew, it was too late to book. The website is very misleading as to the number of restaurants and food options that are open, especially at lunchtimes time. The Snack bar very limited and cooked at the beginning, there is no freshly cooked food available. Snacks throughout the day are also limited and unappealing as look stale and not particularly fresh. The room that we are in, whilst clean, is very dated. There is paint pealing and chips on the furniture. The dressing gowns were not in a very good state and had lots of threadbare loose material. The shower did not work properly, until we called to have it fixed, and water/soap came up from the drain in the middle of the bathroom. There was no air conditioning in the lounge area of the room, making it almost unusable during the day and evening. The wooden sun loungers by the pool looked like they had seen better days and the cushions on top are stained. The seats also had plastic bits missing, leaving sharp pointed bits of metal. The travel cot does not open up properly with the sides not clicking into place and as a result it felt dangerous to sleep in as we didn’t know if it would stay open. Another issue was the limited shaded areas. The umbrellas by the pool were fixed to the ground so that you couldn’t move sun loungers to the shade. There was also very limited shaded outdoor seating in the buffet restaurant. Whilst having a low toilet for toddlers is excellent, not having a baby changing station in any toilet is particularly bad if the hotel is marketed as being for families. Finally the roads running through the resort made it unsafe for our daughter to walk around. We also realised on our final day that there wasn’t a life guard at any of the pools. We were expecting 5 star quality but do not feel that our stay has lived up to this.

Ok where to start, i read reviews about the hotel before staying, i honestly belive them to be untrue. What we have experienced Cold food in the restaurant- daily Lack of water, coffee, milk, sugar in the rooms - daily Cockroaches in the rooms- twice Flood in the room. Blocked drains in the rooms. The receptionist actually said that she was glad she didn't have to sleep in our room! This is quite possibly the worst hotel i have ever staryed in, if it has been sold as a 5 star you have been ripped off. From the food to the quality of fixtures and fittings, entertainment and cleaning regime this is a solid 3 star. I'm still here now, eating out most of the time as the cooked food is total crap, I eat salads if I need to have anything here. Going home in a couple of days, can't wait, the only good thing is it has reminded me how lucky I am at home. All the posts about it being clean, my room has not been cleaned properly in the last 10 days.

Arrived home after a 2 week stay at the Vasia! Was greeted with a hot meal on arrival. We stayed in a family upstairs downstairs room and water was replenished daily in the fridge. I was apprehensive at first as not a lot of pictures of the food here but safe to say it is good. It is repetitive and I'd like to have seen steak but there was always something although I wish the pizza was the same pizza as in the a la carte ! Orange juice was fresh which was a bonus. I have to say smiley icecream lady in canteen should be on the main reception. She is just lovely and true asset. The receptionist she could do with smiling a bit ! She's front of house. The staff work tirelessly and so happy . We ate in both a la carte both good for an AI as normally awful. We preferred the Italian but both good. Free as one for each week being AI. Swim slides and pool was great my kids were chuffed with this however....something needs to be done about the kids club. The staff are lovely and safety aspect amazing eg you book online etc...but there's no descriptions of any of the activities. The mini disco is hardly on just 3 times a week and I feel the staff need to be in a bright uniform for kids it felt like they couldn't be bothered and were not confident in the dances. The entertainment needs sorting only thing that let's the place down. So many children just sat there waiting for something. Run a disco every night, then something kid friendly then do adult entertainment. So many kids no where to go. We ventured out as its a must in sissi. Taverna amelia for Greek night amazing. Peggy Gordon's quiz and Karaoke Ormos or Queens for sunset , and best crepes ever at coba. Stam stam a must too. So all in all great holiday . But please sort the kids club. The activities inside my kids enjoyed a couple of times but they wanted more games around the pool. It seemed the reps didn't venture outside their space. Not visible. More mini disco and make it more fun in evening for kids !

I have been twice, solo then couple trip. The resort is beautiful, peaceful, clean, good food great variety. Perfect for kids, young , adults and older people. The staff are amazing and friendly. I made some friends who even remembered me the next year. The room was spacious and if anything broke they fixed it immediately. The only part that isn’t great is the entertainment ends quite early in the evening. The area is beautiful and quiet. If you want a party area it’s not here, it is lovely. Prices in local restaurants attractions are so very reasonable. The excursions you can go on and well priced and amazing adventure and make great memories. I would highly recommend. Lovely fishing village

I only have good things to say about this hotel… on arrival we were shown to the reception to check in whilst our bags were taken are of. We were checked in quickly and pointed to the restaurant to grab something to eat after our long journey. From there we went to collect our bags… we were taken on a golf cart to our room with a lovely member of staff who pointed out all of the amenities on our way round to our room. He also brought our suitcases all the way in to our room which was so lovely. Once in the room we had a lovely note left for us as it was our honeymoon, a bottle of wine and a plate of fresh fruit. The room was extremely clean and was cleaned every single day.. it smelt lovely like bleach everytime you walked in. Fresh towels for shower and pool towels were given.. the hotel as a whole was also extremely clean.. every single toilet around the complex smelt so nice and fresh and clean. Food…there was so much to choose from every single meal time.. definitely something for everyone… we booked into the Greek restaurant whist on our stay and the service was just amazing aswell as all of the food. Every single day we managed to get a sun bed around any of the pools. All of the staff were so friendly and welcoming… the guys who did the entertainment in the cotton bar are so funny and try to get everyone involved just genuine lovely people. Around the hotel is a few shops and if you go for a walk round near the harbour just a short walk away the views are beautiful aswell as more gift shops in a small town, coffee shops ect. If you are wanting to go to the beach then go and ask the reception as they have a minibus free of charge that will take you to their sister hotel right onto the beach with sunbeds and parasols to use for free (look out for the lady who walks along the beach and tries to massage your feet for 25 euros haha) You also get a percentage off food and drink whilst there and then the minibus will come back and pick you up at the time stated. Again lots of amazing shops around there and coffee shops to sit and enjoy the views of the sea and beach. I could actually keep go on about how lovely our stay was and we have looked into coming back next year we enjoyed it that much. AMAZING!!

On a arrival given a refreshing drink during check in as it was gone 23:00 we was supplied with a bag with fresh fruit and rolls and given a drink at the bar Rooms have a fridge/ kettle and daily refreshed coffee tea and bottles of water These rooms are standard but are very clean and given towels bed change throughout our stay and beach towels changed every day Daughters room was a superior family room which again she was very pleased with and friends also The areas around this complex is kept very clean to a high standard All staff were very friendly polite and helpful. Man in Greek restaurant was very friendly and also went out of his way to ensure our meal was enjoyable. You get either a Greek or Italian meal free during stay Pool area again very clean pool very cold and beds do need upgrading but there was struggle to get a bed Food was excellent could not fault again staff working there were friendly and always smiling Alcoholic drinks well we was surprised to find these of a decent quality brands and full strength and a decent measure too We also went out of the complex walking enjoying the areas and went into malia in a 8 seater taxi 80 euros round trip and the man came and picked us back up the taxi again was of a high standard Hotel charged a 10 euro per day tax due to there 5 star rating think a 4 would be more suitable unless they up grade rooms and beds around pool Yes we would return but not in high season as feel it would be too busy for us shame one pool is not heated
