Vasia Resort & Spa

We liked that you could walk into Sissi and swim in the harbour. Great position on Crete to drive to water parks, aquarium and Agios Nikolaus etc. The room was spacious. Nice swimming pools and the food and drinks were great. Staff were friendly. We liked the pet hotel.

No beach in front of property and we had a carpark view. Air conditioning kept turning off if you didn't constantly move an arm so hot at night. It was expensive in high season.

Would give 4.5 out 5. Definitely not a 5 star hotel as official rated but a decent 4 star for sure. Great views pretty much everywhere from hotel. Good food. Maybe not enough Greek food for my liking but plenty of choice. And the Italian restaurant was nice treat (get 1 booking per week of staying) Pools were busy and definitely for families this hotel not couples. Short walk into Sisi harbour which was stunning. The entertainment was ok nothing special . Staff were very pleasant and efficient. Rooms were simple but very clean and spacious. Beds very comfortable. No mad dash to reserve sun beds which was pleasant surprise. Lots of French and German families and few English ones too so nice mix.

Amazing experience. First time to Crete and our best European stay. Service by Adela at front desk was impeccable. Food was of a very good standard for all inclusive. We upgraded our room to have the two bedrooms and our own private pool. Reassuring that the private pool was maintained regularly by staff and was a safe depth for our four and seven year old. Sissi is a beautiful part of the island and swimming in the sea nearby was a highlight.

High overall standard throughout the hotel – cleaning, service, staff, restaurant, room, and pool areas. The whole family agrees that the quality of the food is top-notch. Always several different hot dishes. Greek salads and fresh vegetables. Various oils, tapenades, olives, etc. Sweet, freshly cut fruits. Breakfast includes freshly squeezed juice, a coffee station with espresso made to your preference – yes, please! Omelet station with a variety of vegetables and cheese of your choice. The drink selection at the pool bar is a bit limited and uninspired, but you can buy additional drinks. The snack bar is fine – it covers your cravings for salty and sweet, but not more than that. We visited the hotel in week 29. No issues finding space by the pool for 4 people, same for the dining areas. Apart from aqua gym sessions, there’s no music at the pool – only at the bar 👍🏻 We didn’t use the areas for small children. At arrival, pool towels were already in the room, and we received fresh ones with the regular cleaning – very nice! Ask for the key to the safe at check-in – it’s included at no extra cost. Waiter Manolis is simply lovely and warm. The Filipino waitstaff team is friendly and fun – Mark at the bar is 👌🏻 Thanks for a great holiday!

Firstly reset your expectations for a 5 Star resort which it is not however what you will find is a great value 4 star resort. We have enjoyed every meal including 2 meals at the Greek Specialty restaurant where the food and setting were fantastic. The staff throughout the resort are just wonderful and our special thanks go to Manolis at the outside eating area he is just a great welcoming person and the hotel should be very proud of what he brings to the business. So in our opinion forget all the negative reports on this hotel we are sure you would enjoy you holiday here.

We have not long returned from a fantastic 2 week stay at Vasia. We were so pleasantly surprised and happy 😊. Room We stayed in a family room with sliding doors. Room 15. It was perfect. A few steps from an ocean view. Comfortable beds for all. We also had 2 x air con machines, fridge, and large wardrobe. Water bottles each day. There are lots of clean towels and a lovely cleaner. Balcony for drying things. The room was perfect. Food We absolutely loved the food. It was fantastic, absolutely lots of choice. We never had a bad meal or got bored. The flavours are great, lovely salad, breakfast was fabulous too. Our kids ate lots and enjoyed the food too. As staying for 2 weeks we ate in the Greek and the Italian both lovely meals. The snack bar at the kids' pool was well used also. We loved the drink choice and also the service in the restaurants. Staff are always smiling and helpful. You wait only a few minutes for drinks. We absolutely loved the food and drinks. Staff Everyone we spoke to from reception staff, bar staff, cleaners, and chefs all so lovely. So happy and polite we have officially fell in love with Greece as a result. Pools Were fabulous the kids had a blast. It's really big and perfect. There are a few small things to improve but not really bothered to mention. The slides for all the kids were fantastic, too. Loved it. Kids Club We used the kids club a few times for the under 3 club 3 x times, and the staff were so lovely happy and smiling. The kids had lots of fun making art, making lemonade, they had a ball and they made lots of new friends. Entertainment We saw some of the shows which were on in the theatre which were ok. I wouldnt have super high expectations of the entertainment and you won't be disappointed. The mini disco is 25mins of songs for the kids again if you expect less it's adequate. The saxophone 🎷 was good as was the kareoke night. The hotel really was fabulous. We didnt want to leave after 2 weeks, and we would return again one day as it just ticked all the boxes for us, and we had such a great stay. We also booked via Easyjet holidays, and it was perfect 👌. We are usually very fussy and really criticised but we can't really. Vasis was just beautiful 😍 thanks for an amazing 2 weeks!

We stayed for 2 weeks - last week of June and first week of July. The first week was fine in terms of how busy the resort was, but there was a very noticeable increase in visitors from about the 1st July which we presume was due to European schools breaking up earlier than UK schools do - something to be aware of. It meant getting tables at dinner and loungers by the pool became tricky in the second week! Pools 6 outdoor Main one has 3 slides and ever present volleyball net with separate kids pool with kids slides next to it. Snack bar next to it serving different things depending on time of day eg. Biscuits, cakes, sandwiches, ice creams, burgers, hot dogs, chips with alcoholic and non alcoholic drinks - roughly 10am to 5pm. This pool gets busy. Other pools less so, but no snack bar just a bar serving drinks next to one. Not a lot of shade by any pool and the umbrellas are not moveable and don’t do a lot! Rooms We stayed in a 2 room suite near the main pool. Air con worked well in the main bedroom area, but there is no air con in the lounge/other bedroom area where our daughter slept, meaning we had to keep the door open in between. Could do with more storage as there is only 1 wardrobe for us to share between 3 people and the only drawers in the desk unit. Bathroom had a bath with shower over then a separate shower cubicle which was a minefield to operate. Too many knobs and the water was either boiling or too cold. Very difficult to get a medium temperature even after we got maintenance to look at it. Shower over bath was fine and had good water pressure, but wasn’t easy to angle the shower head. In the wardrobe there is a safe to use but you need to get a key from reception - free. Kids club Ages 4 and up is free. Bookable slots AM and PM. Carers very nice. Crèche for under 3s available at €25 euros per session. Dining areas Breakfast - buffet service. Collect your own juice and coffee. Lots of choice from fruit, salad, cheese and ham, cereal, cooked breakfast, omelettes, pancakes, boiled eggs etc. Can sit outside if you want. Lunch - buffet service. Plenty of choice, very nice. Drinks served to table. Dinner - Outdoor seating by one of the pools is nice. Not too hot even though dinner starts at 6.30pm and the sun is out until approx 8.30pm. Plenty of shade. Waiters serve you drinks at your table and are very nice and attentive. Buffet service, plenty of options with a kids food area (although plenty of adults using it too!). Plenty of desserts to choose from as well. Being Greece, you’d think a national dish like Moussaka would be on the menu more - we only saw it once per week. If you sit inside, the air con doesn’t work very well so it can get warm if weather is humid and/or dining area is busy. Not what you want. We asked if it could be made cooler but apparently not. Interestingly, their website states no shorts in the dining hall, don’t worry about that as everyone wore shorts! And how could you not when the air con doesn’t work very well! Overall, good dining options, constantly kept fresh and full and so no waiting around for any food. As we stayed for 2 weeks, we were allowed to go into either of the 2 A La Carte restaurants for free - once per week. The first week we tried the Greek restaurant. Was ok and nice, but not very Greek. Sat outside on the coastline (5 min walk from main resort) watching the sea and sunset. You pay for wine. Nothing to write home about. Glad we didn’t have to pay. Second week we tried the Italian which was, quite Italian! This was much better than the Greek restaurant and had traditional Italian dishes on the menu. You also sit outside on the roof which was lovely. Nice views and the sunset. Would recommend. Outdoor The resort is large, so plenty to walk around and would have been handy to have been provided a resort map on check in. Kids park by reception, however we didn’t actually find this until our second week as it’s tucked away. Can walk down to the coast line in about 5 mins (not beach) for lovely sunsets. Local shops are on the doorstep and the village of Sissi is just a 10 min stroll away. The village is very pretty. Lots of shops, tavernas, small port where you can swim in the sea from the port. Next to the resort is a large supermarket and Mevis hire cars if you need one. We found this the easiest and cheapest to rent from. We rented an Audi Q2 twice for a few days each. No hassle. We wouldn’t call this a 5 star hotel. More like 4 star. We didn’t use the spa. Might come back, but not in a rush.

Stayed in the hotel with my partner beginning of June. Hotel is quite dated and not 5 star. But we did have a nice time. Loved the area near the harbour. Food and drink ok but we ate out most nights. Didn’t like the fact you are so cramped around the pool area.

I stayed one week at Vasia Resort. Yes, maybe it is not a typical and luxury 5* hotel, more likely 4*. But there si nothing to complain about. From the first moment at reception till the end of my stay everything was absolutely perfect. Staff is nice, polite and always smiling. Room is large, clean. Bathroom with shower and bathtub. Balcony with table and chairs. A/C worked perfectly. Room service everyday. New bottle of water also every day. Food was delicious. Lots of options every day, everything was fresh and very tasty. Loved desserts and fresh orange juice for breakfast. It is possible to eat in a la carte restaurant once for stay (greek or italian). La Trattoria is italian restaurant on roof of the hotel with amazing view to the sea and sunset. Hotel has several pools. Kids pool with waterslides by snack bar, two pools by bar or small pool with seaview. No problem found free sunbeds through the day. Hotel provides transfer to the Potamos beach (didn't use). I was going to the Boufos beach, 15 minute by walk. Hotel has perfect location. Nice walk to the harbour and Sissi. Sissi is beautiful village. You found here everything you need - supermarkets, souvenir shops, tavernas and bars. You can also walk alongside coast and watch breathtaking sunsets. Special thanks to my cleaning lady (room 1501, unfortunately don't know her name). She was very nice. And Julian. He always stopped by and talked to me. I really enjoyed my vacation at this hotel. Would recommend.

My partner and I stayed at the Vasia in early June 2025 and had an amazing time. We couldn’t fault the hotel on anything! The food was great and the staff were very friendly. In particular the blonde lady who worked on the reception bar in the evenings (so sorry I never got her name) was exceptionally kind, friendly and helpful. The hotel had severals bars and pools so there was plenty to do. There was a pool with waterslides so I imagine it would be a good hotel for families too. The spa treatments were great. The food in the Greek a la carte restaurant was absolutely delicious and we got to watch the sunset as we ate our meal as the restaurant was located right by the beach. Our favourite feature of the hotel by far was the location. The area was very relaxing and peaceful, but still with plenty of shops, ice cream parlours and tavernas around. Probably wouldn’t be the best place for anyone looking for nightlife, but we wanted somewhere peaceful to relax and go for walks. We spent a lot of time reading on a nearby small rocky beach that we often had completely to ourselves. And one day we walked 20 minutes to a sandy beach where we paid 10 euros to hire two sun loungers and an umbrella. Overall we had an amazing time and would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday right by the sea!
