Campanile Cardiff

Easy to access from M48 on arrival from East. Clean, comfortable and quiet rooms. Taxi in and out of centre cost £12 to £17 late night

We had a comfortable few days. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful...especially when we had a problem and had to book an extra nights stay.

An extremely tired old place but clean and the bed is comfortable. Only stayed there because of the discount, would not pay full price.

Room ok. Bar not very well stocked. Breakfast not brilliant. Bed comfy

Horrible night stay

Not the prettiest setting but it was clean and comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Looking tired and grubby, room clean, but would have expected to have breakfast included for the price paid for such basic room.

Excellent value for money helpful staff

First thing is that I was down on business in the area and the commute to pontypool made this an easy drive for the 4 days I stayed here. On approach to the hotel you go down a really steep hill and your not parking level so be prepared for a hill start the next morning. The room was as I’d expected having stayed in many campaniles over the U.K. and Europe, with the exception that the bath was tiny. I’m 5ft 6 and I couldn’t submerge my legs under the water. I have a condition where my knees dislocate and hot baths help ease the muscles The room had takeaway cups and a tea and coffee tray which was replenished daily. The room I was in.. 16 had extra pillows and blankets but be prepared for 1 of the worst nights sleep you’ll ever have. The matteress is really uncomfortable and every turn you could feel and hear every spring. I barley slept the 4 nights I stayed there. Lidl is within walking distance to get milk. The bar is reasonably priced at £4 a pint.. standard really in a hotel but the menu in the restaurant didn’t look that great so I visited the harvester every night on my way back from pontypool. The staff are friendly If you don’t book direct with the hotel the WiFi isn’t free. I knew this prior but get air miles booking with Expedia so it didn’t bother paying the extra £10 for 5 nights. Didn’t do breakfast I wouldn’t stay in this campanile again until they invest in decent mattresses

Pleasant hotel convenient to motorway network, quiet location, individual entrances to rooms from walkway had great appeal, room well appointed clean and comfortable only downside was car park on heavy slope and layout not good for long vehicle, very acceptable breakfast
