Campanile Cardiff

Although close to the motorway it is too far from Cardiff itself and it’s description is misleading. The rooms are extortionally prices and are in desperate need of updating. The outside is very tatty and, although clean, the inside is tired and tatty in places. On the positive side the bed and pillows were comfortable and the shower was good. We will not be staying there again and I will now write to Campanile to complain.

We were shocked at the very steep incline of the access road and to get from rooms to reception & restaurant. The grubbiness of the sign, fencing etc gave us the feeling of entering a run down social housing estate rather than a hotel. The sound of the bed springs at every slight movement was not conducive to a good nlght`a sleep and we cannot remember staying for very many years where the shower was not thermostatically controlled.

Confortable,clean and quait

In comparison with the French equivalent, poor and scruffy. Restaurant very disappointing, torn dining furniture and no atmosphere whatsoever. Completely lacking in imagination and altogether run down. Having said that, the bed was clean and fairly comfortable so could have been worse!

Enjoyed our weekend stay here would come back only down fall a bit out of the way but area and room exellent bus route very regulare

The hotel is basic but clean, a bit dated could use a bit of refurbishment. Staff on reception are very nice and attentive. I would not recommend the restaurant, food is at best average and I had to wait almost one hour for a burger, which was a disappointment. I was the only guest that night so there is no explanation for taking so long.

The room was OK. The bed was horrible. The mattress was clearly very old and all the springs had gone. Their was also a strange droning noise every few minutes all the time. It was like someone was drilling 1 - 3 rooms away. I was in room 103. The car park was also very steep and difficult to park on.

Our 5th stay here, basic rooms, clean & tidy although decor could do with upgrade, comfy beds and hot water
