Ha Mar ao Luar and Setubal were a fantastic revelation for us. We stayed as a couple for the first 2 weeks of June in an apartment attached to the main house. Setubal is more local Portuguese than tourist, great fresh local food and drink and very natural/rural. Amazing panoramic views, castles, forts, restaurants, wine/Moscatel, beaches all around. The hosts at the apartments could not be more accommodating. The rooms were fresh and clean and had all facilitate we needed - home from home. Communal pool and areas allowed access to sun all day. The town/beach is a (steep) 3km walk which we enjoyed. Early June we had a choice of any restaurants or entertainment with no need to book in advance. Mid 20's temperature most days. Lisbon very accessible in under an hour by car.

Our rooms were not air conditioned but was not an issue for us in early June, the apartment did have fans available. You would need to use a car for most trips if you weren't up for the hike up the hill.

This property was better than expected. The location is absolutely stunning. It was like a remote slice of heaven.

The property can be difficult to access as it is more remote. Drivers who aren’t comfortable riding through steep hills and unpaved roads should probably pick a different option.

Lovely property on outskirts of town . We stayed in a little standalone "wooden shack' with a terrace, livingroom/kitchen, shower room and bedroom. Fabulous swimming pool shared with others but we only saw 2 other guests use it, 3 lovely friendly dogs wandering around and playing. Simple breakfast brought to our shack and an easy 5 minute drive to the town and all amenities.
