The Manor on Golden Pond

Our entire experience from the cheerful greeting upon arrival to the warm sendoff at departure was the definition of HOSPITALITY! The obvious attention to detail results in a pleasurable experience at every moment. The comfort of the room is accentuated by exceptional furnishings and linens. The common areas are inviting and lead to beautiful spaces for gathering and dining. The food is incredible, whether it is the wonderful breakfast options or an exquisite dinner paired with perfectly paired wines. The grounds are beautiful and the team here will make your feel welcome and appreciated. We were all ready thinking about our next visit before our stay was over 10/10 in every possible way!

What a gorgeous getaway! Between the views, the food & the overall ambiance, I don't know where to begin! All of the staff (Meghan & Jen) were friendly, helpful and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect! Breakfast in the morning was delicious! I've never had lemon poppy French toast, but now I want it every day! We ate dinner in the pub which has such an awesome ambiance! And the food was incredible! One of the best nights out we have had in a long time! We cannot recommend enough!

We stayed at The Manor for Holderness Grandparents Weekend - what a treat! It is a beautiful Inn with everything you need - AND amazing staff. Truly the best we have experienced. They were very attentive to our needs and accommodating in every way possible. Very kind and friendly. We are so grateful! Great breakfast and a great dinner with our family who was also in the area.

The Van Horn Estate is a beautiful historic property with an excellent restaurant, cozy lounge and bar area and well-appointed rooms with comfortable beds and thoughtful ammenities. The lake views are stunning, the breakfast was delicious and the service very attentive and gracious. Can't wait to return!

We went to the Manor for my birthday. The hotel and restaurant were luxurious. We enjoyed our stay and my birthday dinner at the Van Horne Dining Room.

My husband and I just spent 3 nights, including our 30th anniversary, at the Van Horn Estate ( formerly the Manor) in Holderness NH. We last visited about 32 years ago! It was very nice in 1994, but today it is superb! The entire staff is so welcoming and the accommodations are luxurious. Our room had a fireplace, comfy king-sized bed and a gorgeous view of Squam lake. The only reason to leave it was to go downstairs for the food, which was consistently delicious. (For breakfast, I highly recommend the lemon curd French toast!) A lot of effort has clearly gone into making the Inn a top-notch venue, but what really makes it a standout is the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff. The Van Horn estate is a gem you don’t want to miss!

The good: bed, linens and towels were top notch. The view is exceptional and it had a working fireplace. The not so good: The room was run down, the bathroom was unpleasant. Were warned they were in the process of redoing the rooms when we arrive so there is that. The biggest disappointment was the food. Over cooked was the theme, throw in a touch of over salted and there you have it. The menu looks great but the execution was terrible. From breakfast to the fillet and salmon, all over cooked. The service was great at night but for breakfast not so much, they just disappear. Being the only ones actually staying at the inn speaks volumes.

A perfect romantic escape! We celebrated our honeymoon here last year and had to come back for our one year anniversary. It is so peaceful, and beautifully maintained. We relaxed the entire stay, and when we were done relaxing, we went downstairs to enjoy some delicious food and drinks. We can’t wait to return!

Impromptu one night get away at The Manor. Enjoyed a delicious Dickensian themed dinner in this beautifully decorated inn. Wood fire place in the room made for a romantic and cozy evening. Played chess by the Christmas tree in the sitting room after breakfast. Would love to stay again!

The entire estate is gorgeous and well maintained. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food is delicious and the environment is very cozy and welcoming. Always have a wonderful time when here and would highly recommend.
