Spruce Lodge Bed & Breakfast & Guest Cottage

The room was clean but the bed wasn't level so we slept with our heads at the foot of the bed. There were two loud guest in the lobby after quiet hours that kept us awake until 11:30. I was going to ask them to respect quiet hours but felt it was managements responsibility.

Older home but many efforts to upgrade and to integrate charming, woodsy, Lake Placid sports themes. Friendly ambience.

Lovely big airy room, walking distance to the main area of Lake placid, enough parking for guests. Small, independent and friendly. Tasty fresh bread & bagels/muffin at breakfast. Only downside for us was other guests being extremely loud either after we wanted to sleep or before we'd want to wake almost every night/morning. Nice character wood building with extremely squeaky floorboards meant family running around directly above did not lead to the best rest!

Breakfast is not good, no protein, not even eggs, only bread and coffee. if later than 9am, you are out, no breakfast for you, the rooms are old, and not sound proof, convenient but on a highway.

While this hotel may not be the destination in your travel plans, it could certainly be a place to sleep while vacationing in the Lake Placid area. Close to town and easy to find.

The lodge is conveniently located (close to the ski jumps and about 10 min walk from Main Street). Super clean.

This is called a B&B, so I was pleased it was in my budget. The "Apartment" was comfortable, the 2nd bed is a futon, the kitchen works, and while the bedroom window looks out onto a roof, someone has thinkingly placed a painting out there for a view.It was clean, has an a/c and overhead fan. I was very disappointed with the breakfast, having stayed at some great B&Bs before. It was OK, but boring. OJ, cold cereal, packaged oatmeal, mini bagels, toast, jam (what kind?) cream cheese, and very ripe bananas. Coffee in small cups. It reminded me of a cheap hotel's nod to "free breakfast". Overall, it was ok, but slightly disappointing as this was a treat trip for my granddaughter.

Owner and staff are very friendly and great to speak with. Very clean and would definitely return.

Staff was friendly, cottage was great Was in a great location. Close to everything Lake Placid has to offer.

We enjoyed our stay, it wasn't fancy, but we didn't need it to be. It had great curb appeal and parking and we enjoyed having our own porch to sit out on at night. The staff were pleasant and check-in was super easy. It was in a good location, we weren't right downtown, but the free trolley service did come out to the Lodge. Our only concern was there were 3 resident cats which we didn't know about and my husband, although he likes cats, is allergic to them. He had no issues with his allergies while we were there, we thought about watching tv one evening, but we didn't because we figured his allergies would definitely bother him in the living area.Other than that, it was a great experience and we'd certainly go back.
