Hotel Mainake

We stayed here one night as our flight to Malaga arrived fairly late in the day and we didn’t want to drive too far. On arrival by car you can just stop outside to unload baggage but as we didn’t see anywhere to park, we took the receptionist’s advice and parked in the underground car park across the road. There was a charge and we never figured out how to get out unless I walked out as a pedestrian, using the walk out door, went back to the hotel reception and asked the receptionist to open the door! The room facilities were good, bathroom excellent and we slept well. The WiFi worked well and the breakfast was nice. This seemed more like a business hotel than a holiday hotel but we didn’t see the pool area. It was a short walk to the beach and the promenade was pleasant. We went to a nice bar a few metres down the road that was popular with locals. It was very busy and lots of people were eating there but it was a friendly place - the bar staff made room for us. We had a pleasant evening. I would recommend this hotel for a short stay. Torre del Mar is nice enough for a short stay but not really a holiday place.

We stayed here 6 nights. Clean, large room. Fresh towels DAILY even though it says they are trying to save the environment and will wash only the ones you leave in the tub. Not so. Nicely furnished. Lots of closet space, drawers, shelves in the bathroom for toiletries, hook on the back of the bathroom door, great water pressure, a bidet which I love, plenty of lamps, and bench for luggage, fridge, and safe. I thought the automatic light in the bathroom a waste of energy. Good size balcony with views of other interesting buildings. Beautiful pool with views of the area. Some staff are more friendly than others. You get more flies with honey than vinegar, so lighten up and smile! We informed the receptionist that we had mosquitos in our room that kept us up all night. At other places we've stayed they have given us a repellent plug type gadget that was effective. She looked at me like I was nuts and said "mosquitos are everywhere" and "there's nothing to be done." But, she said, they would take a look. Don't think they did. No recommendation of where or what we could purchase. Don't they know in Oslo we practically have NO mosquitos?? We bought a citronella candle, it's natural, I hope, and that seemed to help. Then there's the guy in the adjacent room that snores so the walls shake, all night long. Good thing we both brought earplugs. My husband received friendly service with a computer print out, btw.

All Rooms face the sea but certain rooms have their view blocked by other buildings - try & get 3rd Floor if possible. There is a restaurant in the hotel but there is a huge choice of places to eat in the surrounding arrea so you have best of both worlds. Free WiFi, great cafe attached to the hotel. Short walk to the beach.

Basic simple friendly hotel parking difficult good disabled facilites inside hotel.

We stayed over Christmas which was fairly quiet but still enough bars and restaurants open to satisfy. The hotel is lovely and clean, the staff are fantastic and the location is great. I will definitely go back

After a previous visit we chose to stay at the Mainake for 3weeks. Any small issues were dealt with quickly and efficently by friendly staff. Attached to the hotel is a pleasant cafe/bar and the area has a number of good restaurants.

Hotel was very clean and friendly , carnt comment on food as we were staying with freinds who live there . I would recommend this hotel .

Simple hotel with all the basics. Nice, quiet pool.

Would recommend this hotel. Always kept clean in the rooms, Good housekeeping staff and very friendly. There are a few nice bars just across the street, with plenty of restaurants close by, I would certainly stay here again when coming back to Torri del Mar. Rooms are a good size, The is good WiFi signal and we were om the top (3rd) floor. The only criticize is that there are no tea/coffee making facilities in the room
