House of 1833 Bed and Breakfast

I really enjoyed my stay in this beautiful home. Breakfast was amazing and the coffee was great! Museum quality artwork and furniture. My room was very comfortable and well appointed!

Evan provided a wonderful stay and an amazing homemade breakfast with the best coffee and the most incredible decadent cinnamon bun I've ever enjoyed. This is a unique and special property with good energy. Definitely consider staying at the House of 1833..Thank you so much Evan!

There’s a strong temptation to stay longer!!!

House of 1833 was the most unique B&B we have ever stayed in. When we arrived, we were greeted by Evan, who was simply delightful. Entering the home, at first glance when going inside, we were overwhelmed by the beautiful antiques and collections, the ornate decorations and the simple beauty of the stately home. After a lovely tour of the home Evan took us to our room - the "Ivy" room - which was lovely. It was a nice touch for an old home like this to have a TV in the room as some don't do this. We had made this our base as we toured around Mystic Seaport and Newport, and we so enjoyed coming back to our room and having such a pleasant place to relax. On top of all of that - the food. The amazing amazing food. Evan is an amazing chef and our three course breakfast was so delicious. It was all made fresh and to our liking. We felt like family from the moment we arrived. We were there in the off season so the pool and tennis courts were not open, but from the pictures of the summer here it is breathtaking with all the gardens. We can't wait to have the chance to come back and visit. We are avid travelers and we highly recommend The House of 1833. Thank you Evan for opening your lovely home to us! Heather and Ian

Great experience and a great time admiring the history of the mansion. Evan the chef/ owner made as feel comfortable and welcoming.

Very interesting house with tons and tons of historic relic type decorations. Owner is a very nice guy, makes a great breakfast also on your way out.
