San Ignacio Resort Hotel

Had such a lovely stay at San Ignacio Reaort. The atmosphere was peaceful, the room was clean and comfortable, and the staff were incredibly kind and welcoming. It was the perfect mix of relaxation and nature. Definitely coming back soon!

My brother, sister, and I --and our respective families (11 people total!)-- just had the most wonderful, magical week at the San Ignacio Resort Hotel. The rooms, the pool, the view, the iguanas, birds, the trails -- everything came together to make this week the most memorable vacation. We did Jaguar Paw cave tubing, the Xunantunich tour, and the Mountain Ridge tour and the guides (Cruz for Xunantunich and Mountain Ridge and Carlitos for Jaguar Paw) were extraordinary -- so knowledgeable and fun. We all learned so much about Belizeian history and culture. A special shout out to Edvin and Kayla for being so incredibly nice, generous, and helpful. San Ignacio Resort Hotel manages to do something that I think is incredibly rare -- a resort experience with tons of activities that remains nonetheless intimate and unique.

Beds were super hard and lots of moths and mosquitoes in our suite.

This is a wonderful hotel. The pool, restaurant, bar, and rooms were all wonderful. The highlight of our stay was the Iguana preserve tour, which is on-site. Don't miss this! Brian's passion for iguanas and knowledge was amazing. He lets all tour participants hold the iguanas an interact with them. Brian spoke perfect English and you can clearly tell he cares deeply for these iguanas. The tour runs every hour on the hour during the day. Don't miss his tour as part of your stay.

We had an excellent stay - for 4 nights and enjoyed the pool, the restaurant, and our river view suite. We saw birds and wildlife and was an excellent base for Maya tours and ziplining. We highly recommend.

My wife and I took our first trip to Belize over her Birthday. San Ignacio Hotel and Resort is first class!. Everything was great, the rooms, the grounds, the food, and the service. It's nice to see top notch customer service does still exist. The decorated the room with some flowers and a nice birthday card for my wife. For dinner they set up a great little table decorated with a birthday banner and flowers....such a nice touch and we really appreciated it. ALL of the staff were very friendly and personable, and Carla went above and beyond. She even packed a breakfast for us on our day trip to Guatemala to visit Tikal. Showers were great - great pressure, great hot water. Air conditioning was excellent...we had zero problems. Restaurant was excellent for breakfast and dinners....everything was awesome. We were fortunate to be in Belize for the last week of Lobster Season - Lobster Omelets were great !! It was great getting to know everyone and learning about life in Belize - it is a beautiful country and we met some great people. If San Ignacio Resort Hotel is good enough for the QUEEN, it's good enough for me =) Highly recommend this resort.

The location is very good.

The bathroom smelled moldy We spoke to the concierge a while because we had 1 day to book a tour and we chose the zipline. It was so short! We were back at the hotel by 10:30 in the morning! $220 for the tour, $45 tip, $15 tip for the shuttle driver was way too expensive for a couple of zipline rides. And the concierge talked a lot about the wildlife (monkeys etc). The zipline guides laughed when I asked if we would see anything. We did not.
