San Ignacio Resort Hotel

A great place to stay if you are interested in birding in the area. The food was good! The forest in the back was good for birding, and Spanish Lookout and Aquacate Lagoon were good. The staff were very friendly, especially the guides. We would stay there again and explore more areas in Belize. The drivers were excellent as well.

The San Ignacio Resort Hotel was truly enjoyable. We found the accommodations clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and accommodating as well. The food was delicious and plentiful. We experienced three amazing tours with local guides that were arranged by the hotel staff as well. Mayan ruins, river tubing and ATM cave tours were very informative. Thank you to our wonderful guides Renan and Carlos. We appreciated our drivers Cruz and Santos. It was lovely to meet one of the owners, Paulina, and learn the history of the hotel. Highly recommend this lovely place.

This was a fantastic surprise for us. We had never been to San Ignacio and booked the hotel hoping the reviews were accurate. We were not disappointed. The property is stunning and elegant. We stayed in a beautiful King room overlooking the jungle and enjoyed our morning coffee in the British tea cups that were elegantly provided. The art in the hotel holds vibrant depictions of the jungle animals, flora, and fauna. I felt as though in an art gallery. The food was excellent, the service, friendly and attentive. The pool has a lovely water fall that heightened the relaxation while I read my book in the sunshine. We tend to be picky travellers and my husband and I were delighted with our stay!

We just got back from our first trip to Belize and spent two nights at this resort while in San Ignacio – and what an incredible experience! From start to finish, everything exceeded our expectations. The resort grounds are absolutely beautiful, the food was top-notch, and the service was impeccable. We loved how easy it was to book tours and services directly through the hotel – it made planning our time stress-free and seamless. But more than anything, we want to give a huge shoutout to Santos, our tour guide for Xunantunich, and the one who also drove us to the airport. He was truly a highlight of our trip in San Ignacio. Santos was so friendly, funny, engaging, full of life, and incredibly knowledgeable – not only about the ancient ruins and history but also about the local nature, culture, and way of life in Belize. Highly recommend this resort to anyone heading to San Ignacio – and if you get a chance to tour with Santos, you're in for the best!!

This was our first international trip from the US as a family with kids. It was amazing start to finish! The pool is nice and all of the service and staff were great. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. The restaurant was phenomenal and we ended up eating all of our meals there. The tours were exceptional and the highlight of our trip! We did zip lining at Calico Jack’s & Barton Creek Cave canoeing and Xunantunich Mayan Ruins tours with Cruz. Cruz was awesome! Incredibly knowledgeable and friendly. He did a great job tailoring the tours for our family. We also did the night critter hike and iguana conservatory tours with Brion. Brion was also great! He is very passionate about the green iguanas and knew a lot about the animals we saw on the night hike. I will say the hill to and from the downtown was steep! Everyone in town was very friendly. Highly recommend!

The staff is so friendly and accommodating for senior couples with mobility issues! The food was marvelous! Take the "Critters of the Night" tour and the Xunanetich Mayan ruins tour. Both were led for us by Santo, who was very knowledgeable.

Our trip started off on the right foot with Carlos picking us up at the airport. He was friendly and knowledgeable and told us about the country during our drive. Upon arriving at the hotel we were greeted, checked in, and given a tour. All the staff was kind and helpful. The concierge Olin was great, helped us with tours and reservations. Cruz is who you want when touring ruins, he is an encyclopedia regarding Mayans and their architecture. Carlos took us to another tour and was great. He loves water tours, he was friendly and fun. Restaurant was good, service at a leisurely pace. Pool lovely. Jorge showed us the iguanas, worth seeing and right there on site. We might see the night time tour, creatures of the night, but that guide, Santos, gave us a ride one day and he was great, I washed we had done the tour with him. Ramiro drove us back to the airport, he was great as well. Friendly and easy to talk with.

Stayed 4 nights at the resort. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Restaurant was great. We ate breakfast, a few lunches and a dinner there. Great kids menu and pricing. Kids loved the pool and iguana sanctuary. It was an easy walk to downtown San Ignacio.
