not much...staff was nice. location was good. Main section of room was clean enough. Pet friendly sort of... This was not a great experience!

To start, the bathroom tub walls had black mold. We actually bought a tub and tile cleaner to clean it! The first night we slept on the bed nearest the bathroom. The mattress was so bad, you sank into it and you rolled off the edges as they collapsed! The second night we decided to sleep on the bed closer to the window. That mattress was a bit firmer but as you moved the coil springs were felt poking you! Those mattresses should have been replaced years ago. The breakfast offerings were less than ok. Eggs and sausages in chaffing dishes were ice cold. The orange juice was sour. The coffee weak. I get the pricing being near Newport but I expected way more!

Very disappointing experience. When I made my reservation through Booking.com, the hotel clearly stated that check-in begins at 3:00 PM. I submitted a request for arrival between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, and the request was approved by the hotel. However, upon arrival, the front desk informed us that we would be charged a $45 early check-in fee and claimed that they had never received any such request. The issue is not simply the fee itself. At no point during the booking process, approval process, or pre-arrival communication was any early check-in fee disclosed. Charging guests for something that was approved without mentioning any additional cost is misleading. Afterward, I checked Google reviews and found multiple guests reporting the same issue, with the fee apparently increasing over time. (I saw a Google review that was posted 3 months ago saying the fee was 35, while another review posted 10 months ago said it was 25.) The payment process was equally confusing. My Booking.com reservation contained my credit card information, and I specifically selected the “pay at the property” option. On the morning of arrival, I received an email requesting online payment, but the email also explicitly stated that guests who preferred to pay at the property did not need to take any action and could pay using the card associated with the reservation. Despite this, the front desk told us during check-in that the hotel was preparing to cancel our reservation because we had not completed the online payment. Fortunately, we arrived before that happened. I double-checked my reservation afterward and confirmed that my credit card information was on file and that payment at the property was clearly permitted. The entire experience reflected poor communication and inconsistent policies.

Our TV wasn’t working when we first got to the room, but the staff came immediately and fixed it for us. They even checked back to make sure everything was working correctly and they were very friendly and helpful. I also appreciate that the floor was NOT carpeted - it felt cleaner because of that.

Every hotel/motel/inn has a distinct smell, but the smell at this location was a bit stronger than I was used to and it stayed in my clothes. Not a huge deal, but worth mentioning in case you’re sensitive to odors. It was probably related to the cleaning supplies, but I’m not sure.

Das Hotel ist in die Jahre gekommen. Es müßten kleinere Reparaturen durchgeführt werden. Terassentür konnte nicht richtig verschlossen werden usw.
