Anantara Chiang Mai Resort

We had an absolutely lovely stay at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, and what truly sets this hotel apart is the extraordinary level of care and personal attention from every single staff member. From the moment we arrived, everyone was warm, thoughtful, and genuinely focused on making our stay special. Two people in particular went so far above and beyond that we will never forget it. When I casually mentioned to the concierge that I was hoping to find makrut lime seeds to take home, Kevin didn’t just point me in the right direction—he brought me two fresh makrut limes from his own tree at home so I could collect the seeds myself. Likewise, when my wife accidentally left a bag at a nearby bakery that had already closed by the time we realized it, Pim at the front desk took it upon herself to go to the bakery as soon as it opened the next morning and retrieve it for us. This is hospitality at its very best—warm, human, and deeply thoughtful. We would return in a heartbeat and cannot recommend Anantara Chiang Mai highly enough.

I had an absolutely wonderful experience staying at Anantara Chiang Mai Resort, where I also hosted my wedding. Everything was truly flawless. From the exceptional service to the comfort and convenience of the hotel, I could not have asked for more. If there were a rating system, I would gladly give full marks in every category. The wedding venue was stunning beyond words, and the hotel team went above and beyond to make everything even better than I had ever imagined. Their professionalism, care, and attention to detail turned our special day into something truly magical. This has become the most beautiful and unforgettable memory of my year 2025. If you are visiting Chiang Mai, I highly recommend staying here — you will not be disappointed. Nothing exceptional for the price. Property size and facilities were ok

The hygiene is good and the area is quite large.

My four-year-old child slipped in the room and hit his head against the wall, bleeding profusely. We had to go to the hospital where he got five stitches. The floor in our room has already warped and is uneven. The corners of the walls are decorated with stones, which are very hard. When the child hit his head against it, a large gash opened up and the wound was deep, bleeding a lot. The hotel only called a car for us. No one accompanied us to the hospital. No one followed up with us either. After I submitted my feedback to the hotel, only one staff member sent a message asking us to cover all the hospital and vehicle expenses ourselves.

Property is nice and staff is helpful but during our family stay where we rented three premium rooms at great expense, our experience was interrupted EVERY day in the afternoon and evening of our stay by a multi-day wedding. There were loud amplified speeches and announcements for HOURS and extremely loud music late into the evening. For multiple days. This property is far too small to have an event like this without disrupting every guest who stays at the property that is not part of the wedding. It is absurd that the property allows events like this without requiring a full buyout so that non-participating guests are not disturbed. Even sitting at the far end of the pool, as far as we could get away from the wedding, the announcements were incredibly loud. After complaining to the hotel about the intrusion multiple times, we were refund a tiny fraction of what we paid for our rooms. No self respecting luxury hotel would subject guests to such an experience. We were appalled.

We had previously stayed in this property over a decade ago when it was under different management. This recent five day stay surpassed all our expectations. Staff were extremely courteous and helpful from the moment we stepped inside the property. Breakfast was excellent and the restaurant staff do an amazing job each and every day. We can’t thank them enough for making our stay so special. The location by the river is perfect, and despite some noise from nearby restaurants, we had no disturbance at night whatsoever. We’ll be back.

Absolutely incredible experience staying at the Anantara Chiang Mai. We stayed here for one week with our child in the Kasara Suite. Location is fantastic, just mins walk from 7-11, laundry, night markets etc. Our suite was huge, clean and so relaxing. Breakfast, food and drinks were amazing. Great variety. The pool is great and the resort is so peaceful. The best part is the amazing staff! They are so kind and helpful. After getting scammed by grab last minute and losing our ride to Chiang Rai, the staff were able to arrange us a private van at a very reasonable price within 10 minutes and save our entire trip! Absolutely incredible, we have never been met with this level of service anywhere else. Overall, the price is quite steep for the area but we felt it was worth every dollar. This was our favourite stay during our 4 week holiday staying at various locations. We will definitely be back!

We had a wonderful three night stay in the Anantara Resort. We were in the serviced suites, which are across the road from the main hotel and restaurants. Originally we were concerned about this, but it wasn’t a problem at all. It was easy crossing over for breakfast in the morning (staff help you across ensuring it’s safe) and on our side it was very peaceful and there is a rooftop infinity pool which is beautiful and was incredibly quiet when were there, just us on a couple of occasions. The room was lovely with comfortable beds and a good shower. Breakfast was delicious which a brilliant range of food which accommodated all of us, including our two, slightly pickier children! The grounds are also beautiful - it feels very peaceful. We also like the location, we did walk into the centre of Chiang Mai one evening but it’s was about 25 mins, on other occasions we took a tuktuk which was easy. All of the staff were also very welcoming and helpful, if we are lucky enough to go back to Chiang Mai, we would certainly stay there again.
