Poor facilities poor policies

Set in the beautiful mountain side… a great escape from the city. Very nice property and grounds. Spa treatments available for a relaxing retreat.

I have given the hotel adequate time to rectify this issue and they have not. Therefore I am moving forward with publicly posting my review. I have never complained about a hotel/stay like this before but I brought up the following concerns at check out and the staff member genuinely was shocked because of how horrid it was but all he said was "thanks for letting us know". I was at this hotel for less than 12 hours (arrived around 12am, checked out by 8am). -I went to have a shower after a long workday/flight/journey- conditioner that is afixed to the wall broke off immediately after I pressed down on the pump, the whole unit fell on my foot and it was genuinely sore for almost a week. -I went to close the shower curtain and you could tell that it has been reinforced but is falling from the wall -I went to brush my teeth and was confused because my slippers were wet and my legs- the sink was spraying/leaking dirty water onto my feet underneath.... -I went to go grab a complimentary water bottle and half of it was empty- this made me obviously concerned about cleanliness/turnover by staff as it was missed -went to plug in my phone and of course the outlet beside my bed it not working, as WELL as the lamp above the bed -The beds were extremely firm- had back pain for several days after which is not typical for Marriott as well. My husband said the same thing about his bed (since we had two double beds as no king was available I believe when booking or at check in) -There were several ants by the patio door. -The parking is literally so so far away and after a long day of travel this was not ideal- valet wasnt an option in case we needed to get into our cars. I more so just wish I was given a heads up that the parking is so far and basically at the other hotel. This obviously is a huge list, it wasn't just one small thing. I think the most disappointing thing was that there was no rectifying the issue or apology at the time. It's not like I was demanding, I was so nice to the man at the front. In fact, another guest overheard the conversation and stated that she "would have rioted if that was her experience," but I work in customer service and understand that sometimes things go wrong. I just wish that I got an apology, so when it had been two weeks and I hadn’t heard back from the hotel I sent the above review to Marriott. Finally the manager reached out and said they would issue 10,000 bonvoy points. Obviously this could be considered a nice gesture but this equates to about 80$ and my stay was 400$….I mentioned this and she basically said the best she can do it the points. I told her I would be posting a review because truly people need to know why they should not stay at this hotel. I’ve read other reviews that hint at the same thing and I wish I really listened to them. We are Marriott people… we even got married at a delta... but this was very very disappointing. Stayed at the Westin wall in Vancouver the next week though and it was beautiful and exactly how Marriott should be FYI! Take notes from them

My stay at The Westin Bear Mountain was excellent. The breakfast there was good, although it was very sunny and hot. One bad thing is that there is no on-site swimming pool. Please consider adding one for the convenience of others.

Standard check out time for similar hotels is 12 pm at this hotel paying 400+pn they expect you to leave by 11 am. Very disappointing.
