Riu Palace Aruba - All Inclusive

We stayed at the Riu Palace Aruba from Sunday through Thursday in a Junior Suite with a partial ocean view. This was actually the most I’ve ever paid for a hotel stay, so I was expecting a higher level of cleanliness and overall experience. Unfortunately, the hotel appeared quite dusty in several areas. Our room and shower did not feel very clean, and even the lobby had noticeable dust on the tables, chandeliers, and windows, which gave the space a wiped-over, residue-stained appearance. Cleanliness is very important to me, so this was disappointing. When I returned home, I immediately washed everything I packed, showered, and washed my hair. We also experienced slow response times for basic requests. I ordered towels around 12:00 p.m. and did not receive them until after 8:00 p.m., even after multiple phone calls and a visit to the front desk. That said, the staff themselves were friendly and professional whenever we interacted with them. The hotel also makes sure to offer entertainment every night, which was nice. We don’t drink much, but we did enjoy the food, which was one of the better parts of the stay. Our room faced the other side of the property where renovations were taking place, so we woke up to a vacant part of the hotel and construction noise every morning instead of the ocean sounds we had hoped for. Overall, we made the best of our stay and still enjoyed our trip to Aruba. However, based on cleanliness and the overall experience, I would personally rate this hotel closer to 2½–3 stars rather than a 4-star property. The night life is not anything in comparison to Cancun or Miami. This is a chill & kick it trip. Enjoy your stay.

Not clean-when we checked in the room was not clean. Dust and hair all over the floors surfaces not wiped (obviously not wiped). I immediately asked them to clean again and they did a poor job, again. When we dined at the Asian restaurant there was a cockroach that came out of the seat cushion at our table. Didn’t go back there again. I also had to get up by 5am to secure a beach spot under a palapa (but this was the least of my worries while there). Not enough activities. The only pros I would say are that the beach was beautiful and the buffet restaurant had lots of options for every meal and the food was decent for an all inclusive.

I can’t say enough good things about this place. Day one we had the wrong room, which does sound awful. I suggest you get there before check-in! Our room was changed the next dayand it made up for any inconvenience we had. Jacquelina is the absolute best. She was so amazing, accommodating, and treated us like we were royalty! Any question or concern we had was solved instantly! Mery was also amazing. She helped us with any questions. She always had a smile on her face. Kaseem (spelling) front desk. He checked us in and helped us with anything that we needed. The bartenders at the pool bar were amazing so funny so kind and definitely kept us laughing. Junior and Nathan! Thank you so much! We will definitely be back and thanks again for a fabulous time. We even almost got stuck due to the snow, but decided to fly out early to another state. They were even going to accommodate us so that way we didn’t have to find another hotel. We can’t wait to go back.!!! Went above and beyond!!!

Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. Marlon of the buffet service team at the Don Nicolas restaurant was absolutely amazing! He deserves a raise....the resort was immaculate. You always saw someone cleaning at any time of the day......the food in the buffet and at the American country restaurant was tasty .....the resort was in very close proximity to the local town (walking distance)....which had a variety of places to shop and eat....the room did have top shelf liquor available to make your own drinks as well

The room service selections were repetitive and not entirely tasty.....the buffet and surrounding restaurants did not allow delivery to the room nor could you take back food to eat in the privacy and comfort of your room.....however when you pay so much money for the all inclusive package .....either the room service should be so phenomenal you don't care about bringing food from other places to your room or .....the resort should allow you to bring the food you already paid for in the package to be brought to your room at your convenience......also there weren't many juice options in the mini bar in the room ....just a lot of soda and some water .....the beach was beautiful but it did need to be cleaned up a bit more .....cigarette butts and plastic cups ruin the experience significantly....the rooms should be separated by smoking and non-smoking because my neighbors smoked like chimneys on their adjacent balcony which (although it was blocked from our own by a pretty high wall) still permeated the air horribly

The hotel is clean, great location and super safe. We always got a palapa and the best hospitality. The rooms were fresh and updated and gave 4.5 star luxury. Comfy beds and pillows… BUT… the construction is actual madness. I’m talking drilling and jack hammering ALLL DAY. This was then masked by the sound of super loud music- which didn’t mask anything, just made it louder. We were a family of 9 and I had my two children with us. Fortunately, we are beach people so spent endless hours at the beach, where the noise from construction was no where near as bad. I caution anyone going who are “ pool people”. There is no way that renovation is anywhere close to being finished. Check with hotel to understand where they are at in the project so you can get a better idea on noise. Beach was stunning but the water was surprising. While blue and beautiful, it isn’t super clear on this side of the island. We heard eagle beach is clearer. Just and FYI to set expectations. We would still come back here.

Shamila at the Italian Resturant was fantastic. Very attentive, welcoming, and an overall great person to work with.
