The Chesterhouse

The breakfast was excellent with cooked and continental covered in volume. Plenty to choose from. Room had stunning view over the bay and very spacious with a 2 seater couch to sit and watch the world go by on. Bed was so comfortable! Staff very helpful.

The bathroom had been modernised and was lovely but shower was small.

Great location. Room was a good size & very clean. Housekeeping came daily. Majority of staff were really lovely & pleasant.

The rooms were unbearably warm in 20 degree heat. Reception told me they can’t turn the furnace off because the old people complain, so I should just open my windows. Problem is there was a very loud fan from the kitchen outside our window that started at 6am every day - I’ve added a photo. So avoid room 308

Easy accessible and clean

Breakfast was good, room comfortable.

Very practical room. Decent shower and bathroom. Room very spacious. Plenty of room for case and wardrobe to hang up clothes. Nice window view onto side street and view out to seafront. Breakfast was really good. Great choice. Good service. Right on seafront. Easy walk to sea terminal (10 mins max), or shopping street behind. Easy for buses too. Great location. Super reasonable price for one night stay with breakfast. Last minute booking too due to steam packet bringing forward sailing by a day.

Maybe a little bit dated. But then that’s the Isle of Man for you. Sort of still back in heyday of Manx tourism 1970s. Not enough footfall to update things. Doesn’t mean it’s bad. Just don’t be expecting modernity Spanish holiday resorts. Not to mention the weather. It is the Isle of Man in the Irish Sea after all. Still beautiful though in its own way.
