This place was so amazing for a romantic weekend away. The massage and breakfast was top notch too.

We loved our stay at the Heron Inn. The rooms are clean, beds are comfy, breakfast was good, nice common living area, easy stroll to town. The best was the backyard, flowering shrubs, shade, lots of seating.

Nice B&B, and for La Conner this may be the best, but it is not an outstanding B&B (like the Anchorage Inn on Whidbey Island). We arrive around 5 pm and there was no one at the desk. Other guests mentioned they arrived earlier and also were not greeted - just a sheet of paper with instructions and a key. Our room was comfortable, but in need of some love. The ceiling, for example, had obvious areas where the paint was touched-up. Also, we were under a room that apparently had a jacuzzi tub and when it ran it was very loud in our room (and they ran it quite late).

The Inn is an old house. It has a lot of charm and the ambience is relaxing. Our bed was soft and our room was quiet. The front porch is quaint. I think there is a back porch too, but we didn't realize that until the day we left.

The breakfast was disappointing. They basically were offering one item. The morning we were there they were making eggs Benedict. Because I mentioned I had never had eggs Benedict before, the woman serving everyone that day only gave me half my breakfast. She said she would give me the other half if I liked it. She got busy and never came back to check so I never got my other half, yet was charged for a full breakfast. I thought the whole exchange was odd and it dampened my overall experience at the Inn. If we go back to La Conner I would probably check out other properties. The Wild Iris is right next store.
