Painter's Lodge, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

Had a wonderful time at this (new owners), pet friendly lodge. Few growing pains...twice I witnessed guests very upset in the lobby to concierges.1) no a/c. (Not the lodge's fault) and 2) still waiting to check in at 530. ? Dont know why... We asked for extra toilet paper as we opted out of maid service and it never came...they appear to be in the process of fixing it up. Ot needs it in some areas ...new carpet..love the history in the pictures on the wall. Lovely servers in the restaurant. View and dock are wonderful. Enjoyed bringing our pug and waking up to the sunrise in the am and the cruise ships passing by in the middle of the night. We did need the fan in our ocean front room even with the ocean breeze, no elevators or room service but comfy beds...we hope to come back another time and stay in our same room with a view. Thanks.

The location on the water provided really nice views. I feel this was a premier hotel at one time, but is showing some wear. The restaurant could easily be more upscale but was extremely basic.

The setting and scenery is beyond compare. So beautiful and the night we were there it was very peaceful and serene. The room was large and comfortable for 2 adults and 2 teens. We made use of the patio at night to play cards and then enjoyed it again in the morning to have coffee and let the day come to a start. We had dinner on the patio and the ambience was fabulous but the food maybe a 7/10. That said after a long day of travelling and sight seeing the convenience factor more than made up for it. Would definitely stay again. Actually trying to find a reason to get back.

Painters Lodge famous for world renown history. Recently purchased by the Evergreen Hospitality Group, who are changing that history, based on their own perceived ideas, by altering the deco, & removing locally displayed artifacts that were present for years. All new staff, not up to speed on customer service in the hospitality business. Experienced difficulties checking in, with a non fluent English speaking host.

Very beautiful place. Hotel is convenient to access the city and attractions.

The staff are unbelievable nice, the property is getting the love and attention it needs from the new owners. Ladies, I stay here for work and it is the safest I have felt traveling. Plus to grab a coffee and walk down on the dock- stunning!

Good Hotel. But, we were the 2nd car that was broken into reported that morning! I’m sure there was more! There are cameras around the hotel pointing directly at our vehicle!

Lived staying here. This is our second time staying here with our friends. Staff was really helpful and nice. I would definitely visit here again.

We booked Aug 21–23, 2025 at Painter’s Lodge, staying in the Executive Loft (Room 523) with our son and dog. We checked out early after discovering a serious bed bug infestation. My wife woke up covered in bite trails, and when we pulled back the bedding we found multiple live bed bugs under the pillows and sheets. The response from management made the situation worse. We were handed garbage bags and told to move to another room (essentially spreading the problem), and I had to push just to get a refund. The manager, Raghav Verma (Evergreen Hospitality Group), showed no empathy and refused any compensation for the cost and stress of decontaminating our belongings. Instead, he suggested we might have brought the bugs ourselves because they had “never had a problem before.” While we were outside bagging our belongings, the manager left without acknowledging us, and another staff member monitored us closely from a distance while on the phone. It was intrusive and unprofessional. We also spoke with Old Island Pest Control and provided photos; they confirmed the bugs and noted the infestation had clearly been there for some time based on the life stages present. This property is run down, poorly managed, and completely lacking in guest care. We will not return and strongly advise others to avoid Painter’s Lodge.
