Painter's Lodge, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

The room was filthy, there were blood stains on the carpet. The bathroom had dirt all over the ceiling and walls. There was dirt all over the shower curtain. It’s too bad because the location and layout of the property are amazing. I cannot recommend nor will I ever stay again.

It seems they are slowly renovating the property, but it was really dated. Bathroom shower was very moldy to the point we chose to skip using it. Overall cleanliness was questionable. Mini kitchen had some things but missed a few basics like knife and dish towel. Nice to have the space of 1 bedroom cabin, but didn’t feel like we got our money’s worth. Staff check in were friendly and warm, but we also had a wait for it to be ready even though we were there at check in time. Deck for restaurant was great to sit and wait with our pup. Had issue with tv input- the guy who came to help resolved but was not terribly friendly/mildly condescending. Note: you need to push input and arrow together to make it work. Place has good bones, but needs work on the basics before focusing on outside of property.

New renovation

Just under new management after being neglected so there is a lot of renovation that need to done. We had request another room since our had dirty carpets and stairs everywhere. Staff do move to a huge renovated one and it was great. Restaurant is also under new management so menu is being tweaked

I was at Painters Lodge for 3 nights with my family. We were put in a rustic old cabin at the back end of the resort. - no A/C ( they put a fan in the bedroom to keep cool ) - Showerhead leaked - The whole cabin was in dire need of refurbishment. ( Old furniture, Outdated windows, old faucets, and old toilet that keep running due to deteriorating parts in the toilet tank ) - The walkways needed repair - No safe in the room, which is needed given the lax security code to the cabin -The windows did not have screens, so if you were hot and had to open the windows bugs could easily get in. - The steam from the shower set off the firm alarm. - No key card to open door...just a code which did not feel safe. - I complained about my door code being "1919" which was a safety risk given the cabin was #19!!!!! Who sets the door code the same as the room number?? I asked for it to be changed and the front staff said they could not do it and just kept telling me I was safe and not to worry. I had serious reservations about who had access to our room given the easy guessable door code. - The front desk billed us for the three nights right at check-in before we even saw our room. In hindsight I'm not surprised by this. i would have left and gone somewhere else if this were not the case. - Housekeeping entered our room as there was no option to not have them enter. - The main pier was closed all three days and there was no pathway to walk down to the water. ( This was one of the reasons we choose this place. ) - We paid $1608.92 for three nights in a very run down cabin with no breakfast. I felt way overcharged for what they provided. We will never stay there again. We were happy to leave. I hope my review helps people avoid this overpriced outdated lodge.

This property has an extensive history. Interesting photos and conversations with staff and locals. Decent on site restaurant. Lots of effort being put into revitalizing the property.

Quaint

We arrived a little early for the 1600 checkin. room not ready. went to desk at 1615, not ready yet, tried again 1630, not ready yet. desk suggested they would call us when ready. got the call at 1715. If I am expected to vacate the room by check out, should I not expect to check in on time? Tripping hazard noted by trial on walk way at left entrance way ,paving stones raised and uneven.

Lovely resort. Friendly staff and easy checkin. Enjoyed the high wood panelled ceilings. Comfy beds and nice linens. Will stay here again.
