Van Wyck Hotel & Suites Near JFK Airport

The worse place. Towels were dirty with hair and stains. Stains on all the all the sheets and bed. Bathroom smelled like pee and was dirty with hair in the tub. Bed was uncomfortable and low. Late checkout was $40 (first time I saw hotel charging for late checkout). No breakfast ( first time I saw. Hotel serving no breakfast). It was a scam

Not what i expected.

The hotel is horrible, if you care about your safety, have family, and or just want somewhere clean and comfortable, do not stay here. Upon check-in, a customer was arguing with the front desk about the inconsistency in the daily rates of the hotel. They appeared to not be able to handle that well. I got checked in and went to my room. As I opened the door the room smelt of smoke. I then asked for another room, this second room was even worse. The bathroom smelt of pee/ pure piss, and the bed had 2 small pillows placed in pillowcases. The bedding appeared soiled and disgusting, there were stains on the sheets. There was an odor of vomit in the room. There was noise coming from the neighbors, sounded like this is a hotel for hot girl/boy summer activities. I noticed the vibe of the people going in and out of the hotel as I was going in (some appeared to be crackheads and dealers, this was later confirmed when I informed the hotel I would be leaving. A woman seemingly on some form of drugs, came out of her room screaming in pain or just screaming). It was at this moment I knew I could not stay for the night. I informed the hotel front desk representative that with a small child I did not feel safe, thus I would like to check out. He attempted to reassure me that even with all that had occurred in the less than 30 minute time interval I was there, there was nothing to worry about. I am still attempting to retrieve my payment for one of the nights' stay.

I see why it’s a 2.5 star hotel. Front desk was extremely friendly. I love that I was able to book this at the very last minute. The bed was comfortable. The computer chair was dirty. The bathroom had phone numbers written all over. This is a hotel that you come to for a very last resort.

Most weed-ridden hotel I have ever set foot in. So gross. Smell of weed in the air no matter where you go. My room reeked of it. My room had also not been cleaned before it was assigned to me. Used towels still hanging around the bathroom and trash still in trash cans. Very tiny and cramped rooms. Could barely even open the room door and the bathroom door at the same time. Scared to even touch the remote because everything was so gross.

The rooms are dirty, parking is the worst ! You get woken up at 2am to move your car. Everyone is so loud and slamming doors. My room smells like smoke because others are smoking and it’s disgusting.

Booked a specific room type through Expedia, on arrival front desk said they didn't have any available and wouldn't be able to accommodate us. Then they hung up on Expedia customer service when trying to get the room refunded.

Made reservations but when we got there they told us there wasn’t one and they didn’t have a room to give us.we drove 5 hours to get there and had 3 kids in the car and no room

Property was nice. The people there was something else. Saw a lot of ‘crackhead’ looking people and behavior

Hotel is not clean at all as soon as you get in it smells really bad and the room smells worse! Had to go buy towels because there were white towels in the bathroom and it had so many stains and black spots. Would definitely not stay here again!
