PULSE GRANDE Hotel

Pulse Grande is a former Shangri-La Hotel Putrajaya. Nicely located on the hill top near botanical garden overlooking the administrative capital of Malaysia. Could be a good option for a weekend stay or a business event.

1) Fairly rating a 5 star hotel, the breakfast is not even at a 3 star standard. Cold food, horrible settings, taste was bad, coffee tasted like water with brown colouring. The worse breakfast I have ever had & this is coming from a 5 star rating hotel. 2) Aircon for both rooms were just bad, I think it's time they do a major overhaul. The excuse given was the weather was very hot hence aircon not working. But isn't that what's aircon is for, cool air during hot weather? I have been to hotter country with no issue with their hotel aircon. Very disappointing that the staffs just push the blame on the "weather". 3) On check out day we were asked to leave on the dot, asked for just 15-30mins extension as none of us had a good sleep due to faulty aircon. With zero consideration they said no. The only pros was probably the concierge staff & FO ... I have nothing positive to say about the supervisor nor managers as they were just so unfriendly & zero hospitality skill. Very disappointing.

Room size adequate, well lit with natural light. Bathroom large,clean and well maintained. The hotel is situated opposite a wonderful park, however the view is sadly somewhat obstructed by a canopy. A walk in the park was breathtaking. One of the most beautiful parks in Malaysia.awesome views, well maintained and clean! Given the beautiful natural environment, the hotel has yet to reach its best potential.

Pros: Room very nice and clean Spacious room and bathroom Nice decoration Good view within resort surrounding Fast check in and check out Housekeeping service is good Nice pool and gym Cons: Broken refrigerator TV broken (good to the technical team that quickly replace the broken TV but seriously for 5* you don't expect this to happen) Air cond not cold Breakfast variety and taste like a 3* For those who drive, parking is located 100m away from lobby (buggy shuttle do not make sense when it rains)

A short info: Pulse Grande was known as Putrajaya Shangri-la. Putrajaya-cyberjaya is always my 1st option for a short getaway from hustle bustle of the city. This hotel is one of my bucket lists. New experience- for a buggy service from the parking lot to the hotel. I think it is available 24-hour or else u can walk (bright side: good for your health). This time, the hotel provides me with a quite spacious room NEXT to the swimming pool! Thanx God, what a nice view. Love it! Hospitality- good. Check-in time less then 10 minutes. Fruits are provided in room. What I love about this room is the separate bath tub and shower. Breakfast is delicious, fresh and clean. However, there's always room for improvement, need more varieties of food such as dim sum, french toast, etc. (I list down some of my fav meal though) which is unavailable. In a nutshell, it's worth it for a short getaway for those who's too lazy to drive far from KL.

A place for meetings/conferences. Not great for residence. In attempting to be attentive, staff are actually a little intrusive - after room cleaning, there are also calls by staff later in the day e.g. offering towels or a snack, turning down the bed. Not sure why everything not done at one time. Gym well equipped. Pool ok but not very clean. Food good but only from restaurants (no shop for snack options although there is a mini bar with some snacks). Shuttle bus to local shopping malls, but has to be pre-booked. Hotel a bit isolated.

Stayed for a night for a delayed MAS flight. Arrived at 1am and checked out at 9am. This hotel used to be grander (the old shangri la Putrajaya) . Old but still ok to sleep for a night. Room big but getting old. Overall ok

Quite an old building

Just confusions from hotel reception of my booking. I booked for 2 rooms ( family) ended up to wait for another 30 min due to another room wasn't ready ( they unable to see my room's booking as i booked). So; after clarification. Few min have to wait until settled. Overall. Staffs are very friendly. Limited hot drink during breakfast. Kids enjoyed.

Staffs were nice & service was prompt. Room is big, good size bed & bathroom. BUT room smells old and amenities (pool) is very disappointing. Booked deluxe hill view room but OMG why would they label it as ‘view’ when there’s actually NO VIEW!!! It’s ONLY facing hill maybe, all I can see is the front side of the hotel very near entrance. So no point having that balcony because you won’t feel comfortable also in it. We never used at all!!! Again, very disappointing!!! Could have booked Pullman for same rate!! Breakfast was awful!!
