The Blue60 Marigny Inn

Love this place! Artsy and cute rooms, beautiful garden areas for sitting, & short walks to all the best spots in New Orleans. Manager was friendly and made me feel very welcome. Room gives off a cozy New Orleans feel. I will definitely be back!

It was literally around the corner from Peter Paul Hotel, where we were attending a wedding. This is more like a B&B than a hotel. (Imagine your grandmother's house.) We arrived a half-hour before check in and met the owner and his assistant purely by chance. They were changing the battery in the key pad to the door of our suite and allowed us to move our bags into the room early. We never saw them after that. The two room suite was adequate and the amenities were the usual coffee, water bottles, high-speed wifi, microwave and refrigerator. AC kept us comfortable. The ensuite bathroom supplied plenty of hot water for showers. We found body wash, shampoo and conditioner in the shower along with clean towels and linens. A TV in each room connected to the internet. It's a short walk to the Ruby Slipper, which was quite good for breakfast. Uber or Lyft will take you to some upscale restaurants and bars less than two miles away. If you're into people watching, you'll find some interesting characters roaming the neighborhood at all hours. But after all, it's the French Quarter right? Although we are older and remain cautious, we never felt uncomfortable walking to our room after dark.

Like much of the French Quarter, there is deferred maintenance evident on the walkways and in-room. Ingress and egress to the property was a bit cluttered with plants. Navigating an uneven, partially gravel, partially brick walkway is a bit of a challenge when you're 70+. My only complaint about cleanliness is that the floor wasn't vacuumed. Walking barefoot, I could feel small pebbles and debris on my feet. Towels and linens were fresh. The floors were all slightly slanted in one direction or the other. Anything round will roll against a wall. The ceiling fan in the bedroom appeared to be inoperative. There was wire holding the fan blades to the fan to keep them from turning, but we couldn't figure out how to turn it on anyway. A floor fan was provided which worked fine. There were many coats of paint on the closet doors; so many they wouldn't close completely. The king size mattress was a bit worn and not as comfortable as I had hoped, but fine for a couple of nights.

Prachtige kamer, heel veel ruim met extra ruimte. Comfortabel bed, heel proper, alles was top!

Er was veel lawaai van de straat. Zelfs met oordoppen nog te horen.

Nice period feel. Right on the street and easy access to Uber. City Market and coffee shop within less than a block.

Elysian Fields is a busy street and can get a little loud.

Location fabulous, and Chris responded to a few niggles with the room promptly.

We liked the blue60, but it seemed a little tired and maybe in need of a refresh
