La Mère Poulard

Our hotel had no staff and was serviced by another hotel. Directions to access the hotel were never clarified before we arrived. We were not aware parking is offsite and requires bus transfer or where to park. Otherwise, it was an excellent stay in the most beautiful place.

Restaurant Mere Poulard is very close to the right entrance gate. Hotel is in this building but the reception is not. It’s 50 meters forward and left up the stairs one floor. Hotel does not have air-conditioning, but you can open window and there is a table fan. Room is quite small. Bed is narrow. Shower in a bath. Breakfast is quite modest, no special omelette of Mere Poulard there.

Great place to stay.

This was a great place to stay. We were able to walk the empty streets of Mont Saint Michel in evening and early morning! What a uniquely beautiful place!

Booked a double room and was given a twin bedded rooms. When I complained I was told they were fully booked and that was all that was available. The Hotel claimed Expedia for the error. Condition of rooms were very tired with older decoration and in particular the bathroom. Breakfast was average with a lack of choice. There was no information about the area within the hotel and generally there appeared to be a lack of care. On checking out my partner asked to use the toilet and was directed to the public WC’s. Overall a poor experience especially for the price charged.

Perfect for our stay

Given the age and location of the hotel, it is important to keep realistic expectations. But, there is never an excuse for bugs, regardless of age. The room was filled with flies. On the positive side, the staff was kind, the sheets and bathroom clean, and the water was high quality. The location is one of a kind, so just accept that and you will find the rooms to be tolerable for a night or two.

This place will do for a place to sleep, it’s nothing out of this world but it was clean.
