The Grand Scarborough

The location is the ONLY positive about this hotel.

I dont know where to start. Dirty. I mean like really unhygienically dirty. This hotel isn't just dated - we woke up actually feeling dirty. The room was pokey. Door barely opened past the bed. Trying to navigate the corridors was a nightmare. Where there were carpets they were grimey. In other places carpets where missing and it was just bare concrete! If you really are in need of a last minute place to sleep in Scarborough.....Just sleep on the beach!

Absolutely nothing! It was horrible, so run down and dated. Very eerie too, the stairs are just HORRIBLE massive health and safety risk as there is just gas pipes everywhere and wires on every wall just there for anyone to touch! The lifts never worked and they had a massive hole in top of that aswell! And the room was absolutely vile, uneven floor. It smelt like someone had died in there it was disgusting, window wouldn’t even open either! House keeping tried to walk in aswell an hour before checkout time thankfully we had the door locked!!!

The staff were very nice and location is great, from the outside the building is very Grand

We were in an internal room but were made aware it had no window, it was a one night stay for a concert so carried on but at £157 a night i was shocked, the room was fitted with damaged furniture, no shower gel in the bathroom ( not filled up) cold water in the sink, only 2 plug sockets and walls scuffed , for the price I expected much much better , no ventilation. Very poor standard

Beautiful location.

I had to sleep on the floor in the bathroom as loud machinery adjoining my room made sleeping in the bed impossible. I spoke to staff on reception and they just basically shrugged their shoulders.

The room was just ok . Location was central. Breakfast was essential,

Bathroom was way too small, toilet area squeeze too small to sit on it and the shower was even worse couldn't wash hair or body in it without banging elbows, couldn't extend arms.

Good location

Dirty towels were hanging over shower rail. Room was not in good condition.

It’s close to the town centre and has good parking near by

We got to our room and we were disappointed. The shower had lots of grime on it. Shower tray was dirty and it looks like it hasn’t been clean in about 4 months.

Location

Expensive for one night and did not include breakfast.
