The location was convenient.

The rooms with no windows are hot with no fans or air vents. The bath had a scum line around the inside and lighting was poor. The mattress was lumpy and uncomfortable. Genuinely shocked that they can charge for rooms like this.

"Never again"

Really worsed place ive ever stayed went there first night was okay abit dirty but didnt say anything but we was so tired we decided to stay another night gave us a diffrent room in the basement no window no air-conditioning nothing roasted hot stunk of musty mould couldn't breath due to asma asked to change rooms an extra 20 pound for a window just to have some air absolutely disgusting place save your money and go some where else

"Magnificent, historic hotel that is value for money."

We paid £109 for a double room and breakfast, which is not a lot of money for a night away in comparison with other places. The room was clean, comfortable and functional and we had a good nights sleep. The building is stunning- the architecture, iron work and ceilings are magnificent. We had a drink at the hotel bar and sat on the balcony, in the sunshine looking over Scarborough- stunning views and a wonderful place to watch the world go by. The breakfast, which if you do the maths, cost a fiver each, was good. There is nice hot coffee and a good selection of food, that quality wise is ok. Again, the view from the dining room is stunning with the occasional seagull pecking at the window! Overall, this is a budget hotel so you don’t come expecting something that is perfect, it’s a little tired in places due the age of the building but it’s a lovely hotel, I’ve been here before and I’ll definitely stay here again when visiting Scarborough.
