Petra Wassaif Camp

The location of the camp is wonderful.. the landscape is magnific and the host, Mohamed, is doing him best to receive the guests in a most welcoming and attentive manner. The basic needs are covered in this camp , hot water and electricity are provided within an established schedule. The dinner provided is very tasty .

I had a wonderful stay! The food was absolutely delicious, with a great variety and fresh ingredients. The ambiance of the place was beautiful and relaxing, making it the perfect setting for a getaway. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful-whenever I needed something, they were quick to assist and always with a smile. I truly felt welcomed and well taken care of. Highly recommended!

The only small inconvenience was that the electricity was available on a limited schedule.It actually added a bit of charm to the experience, allowing us to disconnect and enjoy the peaceful surroundings even more.

We did not get to check in at all as the property was inaccessible by our driver in his car. The road in was not paved and our driver thought only a 4 wheel drive could drive on it. The driver called the hotel and requested them to fetch us in but it didn’t happen. We had to book another hotel last minute

The common area is large and comfy, and the cabins are clean and roomy!

But perhaps the most memorable part of our stay was the evenings spent by the fireplace, swapping stories and sharing laughs with the owner. His passion for his craft and his genuine interest in his guests made our time there truly special. As we reluctantly said goodbye to this slice of paradise, we left with hearts full of gratitude and spirits lifted. This isn't just a place to stay; it's a sanctuary where nature's beauty meets heartfelt hospitality. If you're craving a getaway that's off the beaten path, look no further. Loved the views and access to hiking around and exploring. Very friendly staff and accommodating to our wishes. The staff played games with our 6-yr old son which made him so happy. They have a great spot for watching the sunset and the lounge area is a fun place to relax. It was perfect for our stay while visiting Petra.

They don’t have 24 hour electricity so the room was quite hot during the day which only affected us 1 of the 2 days.

Hot water and electricity were only available in the evening, if we asked for them.

The staff and the lodging itself is amazing. The view was amazing too. His son cooked dinner for us and his cooking is amazing! Very very delicious dinner. The room was also amazing. I feel like we were traveling back in history with the decors and the layout. Hanging out with the owner and his son and having conversations were lovely. I highly recommend this place. Authentic with experience in Mumia and Jordan overall.
