"Huge frustration. Very poor value for its price."

3.0

It is close to Little Petra, which is the second entrance of the ancient city upside. The staffs attitude was not bad.

Unlike most of the positive reviews, we were shabbily disappointed staying there. Unfortunately, Many people didn't comment on the facility’s cons, and We booked here relying on these comments. There are basic utility issues such as hot water, electricity and the poor road to reach the hotel. First of all, they had a power issue. We arrived there around 8.30 pm. They said the power would cut off from midnight to 7-8 am. Thus, they couldn't provide us with hot water and electricity till the morning. After touring deserts, showering was the most important thing to us. After insisting on that, they released water, yet it was barely warm, although it was still around 9.00 pm. So, it was tough to take a shower without the risk of catching a cold. We were at the end of November, so it was cold and windy during the night. Without electricity, you can't run A/C and keep yourself warm. Luckily, they provided us with an extra blanket. Another issue was the road. It is too hard to reach the facility without an SUV vehicle. It can't be considered as a road that was simply flattened a dirt road with a lot of pieces of stone and gravel. I can't even imagine reaching there with a standard car in the rain. We also couldn't agree on breakfast time due to the power issue. They wanted to prepare it after 8.00 am. So we were not able to start visiting Petra early, as we couldn't check out before. Moreover, Breakfast was so poor. In addition, the room was not clean; its floor was dirty, and the bathroom was dusted. There was no drinking water and no slipper in the room as well. When we asked for water, they said it was extra charged. We just wanted to stay there overnight to experience a dessert night to watch the sky and the Milky Way. Yet it ridiculously became an off-grid life with our money.

"Most authentic and peaceful place in Jordan"

10.0

I started my world trip in Jordan and Wassaif Camp was the best thing which could happen to me. I had my car and reaching the camp with google maps was easy. The location is perfect to disconnect from the crowd in Petra. If you stay there, please do yourself a favor and enjoy the sunset on the hill (left side from the camp). Just go out in the night and admire a wonderful sky full of stars. I saw a lunar halo for the first time during my stay there. This place felt like home to me. It is very safe and the owners with the team are very professional and helping you to get the most maximum out of your stay in Jordan. Breakfast and dinner was every day fresh and delicious. If you like shisha, ask for the flavour double apple and enjoy your time at the fire place. I felt there so welcomed, so that I decided to stay there longer and could get classes in horseback riding and enjoyed great hikes. It was a wonderful experience to learn more about the bedouin culture. Thanks a lot to the team! You guys made my time in Jordan wonderful. Shukran Jazilan!

"A welcoming and confortable camp to enjoy Petra and the desert in a different way"

10.0

I stayed in this camp for two nights with my family (my wife and 2 kids 18 and 21 years od) when we visited Petra as a part of a 10 days trip to Jordan. This was our first time in a camp (later we spent 3 nights in a camp in the Wadi Rum desert) and I must way that it was one of our top experiences. The camp is in an isolated position, about 15 minutes by car from Wadi Musa, not very far from the entrance of Little Petra. The last part of the trip is on a gravel road, but don't worry: the camp can be reached with a regular car, just drive a bit slow and follow the signs. The camp offers about 20 tents and a very big common area where guests can socialise, play traditional games, drink a tea, and enjoy the meals (dinner and breakfast). The tents are for 2 people, are very spacious and have a private bathroom. The beds are confortable and the nights are super quiet. Everything was very clean and curated. The owner Mohammed was incredibly nice with us (the same for the rest of the staff) and we had a chance to talk to him for a few hours after dinner, which helped us a lot to learn amore about Jordan and about Mohammed's personal story. Not to mentions the Shisha, which was excellent! Thanks Mohammed. We definitely recommend this solution if you visit Petra and don't wat to stay in a luxurious and expensive hotel, or if you want to escale the chaos of Wadi Musa and have a direct feeling of the desert.

We had no problems at all, everything was perfect for a camp experience. The only advice is perhaps to diversify a bit food for people who stay more days. But the food was very good, so no complaints at all.

The absence of electricity during some of the hours (not a huge issue but something to keep in mind)

"Friendly receptionist and nice view"

8.0

We like our stay here. The view is amazing and the shared room is very cozy and beautifully traditional designed. The receptionist Sam welcomed us very friendly. He treats the guests with respect, is very helpful and understanding! The food was okay.

The Shower water jet was very weak. Hot water only available between specific hours. The road to get there is difficult for a non-jeep car.

"Not the best experience"

7.0

The main relxatation area/restaurant was very nice. There is a nice view as you are on top of a hill. The tents look interesting and the staff is really really polite and helpful!

1. On the first morning we were told that the breakfast is from 7am to 9am. We were there at 8:30am and there were literally a few olives, some apples and some biscuits left.. They weren't prepared with enough food for everyone so basically the people that arrived earlier ate all the food. Next morning we tried to be there earlier and we managed to get some food this time, but there weren't many options to choose from anyway. 2. As for the tent, it looked a bit unkept. The water pressure in the shower was low and water temperature would go from hot to cold without touching the water tap. 3. There was a massive cockroach in our room that got in there because the tents are not well isolated. 4. On the second night we barely slept because it was windy outside and the tent was fluttering and making a lot of noise because the interior fabric that is covering the walls was not properly taped so it kept flapping.
