"Terrible- If anyone is thinking of booking this hotel one word DONT!!!"

1.0

The beach connected to the hotel even though you have to pay for the sun loungers.

The food, the cleanliness, the air con in my room barely worked, ants in my room, cockroaches in the dining hall, the poorly maintained tiles by the pool and in the outside seated area where you could eat as I cut the bottom of my foot on the broken tiles by the pool, the fact I stayed 4 days and my room was cleaned once yet no fresh towels were ever put in my bathroom even after I kept having to ask reception.

"Pésimo y mediocre"

4.0

"Wouldn't return for a free holiday"

4.0

The place was serving awful food. Half cooked pork, raw chicken... they were heating "hot food" in the bain Marie. Our room was filthy to start.. then we found live electric sockets on the floor, complained to no avail, reception dont care. The hotel is in disrepair all round and dangerous state. Many broken sunbeds, smashed glasses all round hotel, algae and slime all round outdoor showers and pathways The facilities advertised were on some other sister hotel sites. There's no reps at all, customer service was awful and it definitely wasn't a 4 star hotel

"You pay for what you get (as long as you got a bargain on this place)"

6.0

You pay for what you get (as long as you got a bargain on this place). The hotel is average at best together with the food and pool. It is in need of a renovation and general tidy up. Beach is rocky - but can walk to a very nice one 15mins away. Having said that we got a cheap deal and the kids had fun. Can just about get a plate of edible food at lunch and dinner (no one was sick). Okay to stay long as you get a cheap deal.

"Great location, friendly staff, the hotel itself has seen better days"

6.0

The hotel is at the northern end of Costa Calma, which is a smallish resort. Good points: The weather is perfect for me; hot with a constant strong breeze so you never feel too hot. The staff are great, really friendly and genuinely go out of their way to help and make you feel special - particular thanks must go to Maria at the pool bar who seemed to do the work of three people - and made the best Mojitos! The pool area is nicely laid out and, although we didn't sunbathe there a lot we were always able to find a sunbed. There's nice seating around the pool bar, with plenty of tables in the shade and an enclosed area at the back with more sunbeds that looks out to the beach. The hotel backs directly onto the beach and has a foot shower just inside for when you return. The beach is amazing! Directly behind the hotel it is a mixture of sandy (golden sands unlike the usual black sand in The Canary Islands) and stones, but walk a hundred yards to the right and it is just sandy. The beach itself extends for over a mile and the water is crystal clear, ideal for snorkelling. There are small fish in the shallowest water (literally at ankle deep) and go to about waist / chest height and there were lots of different fish; at one point there were so many that when we looked down with goggles it was as if the seabed had a carpet of fish. There are also fairly tame chipmunks living in the rocks at the back of the beach. The rooms were basic but clean and well laid out and most importantly, the air-con worked well. There's a decent shop onsite Good entertainment for younger children during the day and early evening. Water aerobics classes or water polo (bit of a free for all but great fun) each day. Fantastic restaurant called Restaurante San Borondón only 300yds away. Breakfast is good with a decent selection (fruits, cereal, bread/toast, lovely bread rolls, slices of ham, pepperoni, garlic sausage, cheese etc, crepes and the elements of a fried breakfast. Bad points: Lunch and dinner. There was nice bread and rolls at lunch, but saying that as the highlight probably says a lot. I won't say the food was bad, but it was disappointing. The cooked dishes were quite bland and generic and seemed to be the same every day, where in previous hotels we've stayed there were distinct differences day by day. Where there was veg it was overcooked (not massively but enough to lose its texture). To be fair, there were nice, fresh salad items every day and for anyone with kids there was always pizza and chips available. However, after a few days we lost interest and, although all-inclusive , we ended up eating out 5 nights out of 10. The gym; there's not much equipment and no treadmill. Overall the building has seen better days. It's cleaned well but could do with having a refurb.

"Good"

8.0

The hotel was good not sure why people's complaints so much. The food and drinks was good, clean room, evenings entertainment was lovely. One minus was waiting 15 min in big que get a drink and also waiting for food when they run out but I'm sure hotel can sort it out and put more people if they want to. Some of the stuff are very nice and hard working like old lady by the pool bar and young guy in the evening bar.

"NOT 4*"

2.0

Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t Return We recently stayed at this hotel and unfortunately, it fell well below expectations. The entire place felt very run down and poorly maintained. It was extremely understaffed, which was obvious from the long queues at the bar—often with only one person serving. Drinks were awful; I was served a curdled pina colada at one point. The food wasn’t much better—bland, repetitive, and very low quality. The corridors resembled prison blocks—dark, bare, and unwelcoming. On arrival, we were given no directions to our room or even where the lifts were, which was particularly frustrating with a pram. The atmosphere in the bar and entertainment area felt quite intimidating in the evenings. Around the pool area, people were smoking and flicking ash onto the floor, which made it feel dirty and unpleasant. The pool itself is saltwater (not mentioned anywhere in advance), and throughout the week we were unable to get a single sunbed—there simply weren’t enough. The location was another downside; it's about a mile walk to reach any bars or restaurants outside the hotel, which isn't ideal if you want a bit more variety or liveliness. On a more positive note, the view from the hotel is beautiful, and the beach—though rocky and slippery in places—is quite scenic. Our room was cleaned well the two times it was actually done during the week. A small tip for anyone staying: for £5, you can get a red wristband that allows you to use the facilities at the other SBH hotels nearby, which are much more pleasant in comparison. All in all, this hotel has potential with its location and views, but serious improvements are needed in terms of staffing, cleanliness, and overall maintenance.
