Atmosphere and surroundings

Our room was by kitchens and bit noisy early in morning with some sort of trolley being pushed up and down. Also does not except cash

So perfect for us and our dog, being ground floor with a small courtyard from our bedroom for him, especially the little dog hamper we arrived to. Also lovely that we could walk a few steps from our room into the pub whilst it not being noisy from our room, and having a separate entrance/exit so we didn’t have to walk through the pub.

I came here with a group of colleagues for a Christmas meal. The food was very nice, portion sizes were good etc. The bar service was slow but that was mainly down to one woman who simply bossed younger staff around but never did any actual work herself. Had I not been in company I would have raised it. Next time!

It is a lovely old building. Clean and comfortable with good service from all staff members. The food was good and we had overall good value for money. The bed was comfortable. My only disappointment was that we did not have a wardrobe or rail in the room. I had to use the curtain rail to hang up our clothes. Thankfully, it was for only one night. The big bath tub in the en suite was amazing. I enjoyed my beautiful soak the next morning.

We had the Cosy room which was a little small but adequate with all the facilities you needed. Especially the mini bar and Snacks in the room. Staff were very friendly. The bed was so comfy!

We have used restaurant before and very impressed. We booked online(Very easy) for a table for 2 on Sunday evening. A very friendly warm welcome on arrival. Shown to a lovely table with plenty of room Drinks and a bottle of water. Roasted coly soup, Devon crab starters. I went for the Rump of Lamb on specials board my wife went for a post Turkey. Thank you chef all was exceptional very well presented and full of flavour. The best flavour and well cooked Lamb rump i have had. I know the big Yorkshire pudding seems to be a thing, lovely flavour but too big for my wife. Great service from the waiting Staff, warm, friendly and professional. We have already made our next reservation. You will love it.

The location was great, as we went to a wedding in the village. Friendly staff.

I think value for money wasn’t there - the rooms are quite dated now and everything is looking a little tired. I don’t think they can really charge those prices now for accommodation . Our room was extremely hot and the heater dial had broken so we were unable to change the setting!
