This place was amazing from start to finish! We were given a free room upgrade upon our arrival, which was a lovely surprise. The room was gorgeous, decorated beautifully with plenty of complementary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom was lovely too, all so clean! I have an allergy to duck feathers and we forgot to note this in the booking, I noticed and went down to tell the manager, he did not hesitate to arrange an allergy friendly replacement bedding within 15 minutes. Dinner here was lovely too as well as breakfast, will definitely be returning. Only downfall is that the rooms were sooo warm, which was nice in the winter but our preference is to be a bit cooler so it would have been nice if we could turn the heating off in our room. But other than that I cannot fault this stay, staff were lovely and accommodating, room was beautiful, food delicious!

room is very comfortable with fabulous bds and bedding. Beer garden is lovely to sit and eat in when weather is good.

Had a lovely stay here before Christmas, our babies first mini holiday that we will always remember. Had a beautiful room with the most amazing bath, we had a Sunday roast there one of the days which was amazing! Staff were all lovely & attentive, bed really comfy and everything you needed in the room, beautifully decorated. Location is perfect. Would definitely recommend & will be back x

My three daughters and I stayed at The Wheatsheaf from Christmas Eve to Boxing Day 2025, and it was a truly memorable experience. This was a very special and unusual treat for us, as my husband was away for Christmas for the first time in over thirty years. I wanted to create a warm and comforting Christmas away from home, and The Wheatsheaf delivered that and more. From the moment we arrived on Christmas Eve, we were made to feel completely at home. We had booked two rooms directly through the website, each with a dog package for our two dogs. The rooms were spotless, spacious, and beautifully warm. When it became clear that our elderly golden retriever (JJ) struggled with stairs, we were discretely and promptly offered a ground floor suite instead of the first floor rooms originally intended for us. JJ was welcomed like royalty, with treats on every fireplace and staff who genuinely adored him. He was happily accepted in both the bar and restaurant, which truly reflects how dog friendly this hotel is. What stood out most was the exceptional service and kindness of the staff. Their welcome felt genuinely warm and gracious, and you would never have known they were working over the festive period. Special thanks to Harriet and Julie, who made the experience feel personal and memorable from start to finish. With roaring fires throughout the day and night, the hotel felt like a true Christmas home. The location is perfect, set in Northleach with lovely walks nearby, including the church just minutes away, known as the Cathedral of the Cotswolds. The food was plentiful, well presented, and delicious, and the Christmas package felt excellent value for what was included. Pure magic. Thank you for giving us a Christmas we will never forget.
