Minshuku Suhara

The place was warm and comfy. We enjoyed our stay.

Beautiful spacious Minshuku and incredible value. It has everything you need, it's very clean, and very beautiful. The best night sleep I've had on the wonderful buckwheat pillow and futon. And the wooden bath is fantastic for relaxing in the night time. You will feel refreshed after staying here. Highly recommended!

Wow!!! It’s an entire historic house, feels like a museum but also has very modern amenities. This is a rare gem, if you have the opportunity, stay here and enjoy the experience.

Authentic Japanese accomodation. It's very beautiful and charming, and makes you feel like a samurai in old days :D

The host was there to meet us at the property. Host was very friendly and helpful, checking in daily with us. Property was close to the train station and short walk to supermarket, chemist and 7 Eleven store. The property had heater and AC facilities to make your stay comfortable. Great location to explore neighbouring towns as just a few train stops away.

Only 1 shower available but 2 toilets, still manageable for two families staying there (total of 9 pax).

Wonderful place to stay in Suhara, the property is beautiful. I enjoyed sitting outside the front listening to the water fountain. The host went above and beyond to make sure I understood everything, even making sure I had chosen a train to catch the next day due to how infrequent they are. I appreciated his kindness in doing so, as I hadn’t made plans :)

A little bit cold but the heater worked great

We loved our stay here- it is a restored traditional Japanese house in Suhara that’s still part of the ancient and historic Nakasendo way. We had the entire house to ourselves and we were able to cook. The host made every effort to make us feel welcome- he showed us around the house and oriented us to where we could go in the area, including the supermarket and restaurants nearby. He also showed us the bus schedules depending on where we planned to go.
