I’m a repeat traveler. I absolutely love and look forward to coming here. The location, staff and amenities have always been great.

Unfortunately this past stay, the indoor pool, hot tubs, no Wi-Fi, no fireplace (was given a discount) were not available due to maintenance. The resort lost power from 9 pm to 11 something. This happened while making dinner. Food was ruined, had to go to bed and woke up sick.

We have been traveling there every year since 2020. Most recently, we noticed the really nice coffee machine in the lobby was no longer there. The ambiguous "resort fee" of $25/day seems excessive and the fact there was some sort of wifi ongoing maintenance overhaul going on and we weren't able to access wifi in our cabin 5 of the 7 days and there used to be an indoor pool and that is gone now. The staff are nice and the scenery beautiful, but with the wifi issue and the resort fee, it definitely dampens my enthusiasm for the place.

The property is very nestled away and in a private location. The lodge is old and quaint. The rooms are small and have Country furniture. It is a peaceful setting, and the ambience is very calming. The restaurant had very good food, especially breakfast. The coffee station was a nice touch to have downstairs. Horseback riding on the trail was absolutely beautiful. Room service was based on request. We liked this because people weren’t coming in and out of the room. The staff was very pleasant at the lodge.

Our bed was creaky and a little uncomfortable. No matter how we tried to sleep it kept sagging in the middle. So I would like to have a more comfortable bed if I come back.

In transition to Hilton so a few renovations underway

The cabin was beautiful very spacious and a great price. Absolutely love staying in them. Just next time I need to make sure it has the fireplace like the last one I stayed in. But it's definitely where I plan to stay every time we go so our kids and grandkids. No other place can compare to this place.

That the general store was card only or charge to the room because it's cash free. Not everyone likes to pay with a card all the time or keeps funds like that on a card. I like to carry cash. The restaurant inside the hotel gas terrible food. Everything was disgusting no flavor whatsoever and very overpriced. Will never eat at that restaurant again.

A Pretty Property We visited this now Hilton/Blue Green resort on a deal with Choice Hotels (which they have since separated from). There is a lot to recommend this resort: beautiful landscaping, choice of stay options including the Lodge, yurts and cabins, horses to ride, pools to swim in and friendly service. An on site restaurant at the lodge had good food. The Shenandoah Skyline Drive is an easy drive to reach. We encountered disappointments though during our stay. These included: the indoor pool area was closed. Our Lodge room was small with no chair or table. The room overlooked the front entrance and needed privacy sheers to let in light and give some privacy during the day. The management needs to pay attention to the little things like making sure the coffee stand is well stocked and having housekeeping clear alarms (we were woken up each night by alarms going off in different neighboring, vacant rooms.) The lack of a seating area in the room itself was a deal breaker for me in considering a return to this particular establishment. We toured a yurt and a cabin. They were lovely.
