Hotel Merkur Interlaken

Andrei and Julie are the best hosts. Accomodated my request for 1 room with extra bed which is not a norm in Interlaken. Very central, across the ainterlaken West and other shops and restaurants, including groceries. Will definitely come back to their hotel whenever I come back to Interlaken.

Congrats to the new management, inviting all guests to the new management celebration was a great touch. Enjoyed meeting the staff. The friendliness of the owners and helpfulness is memorable. Special mention to Noah at the reception for her professionalism! Only issue I had was street noise, I asked for 3 quiet rooms, unfortunately for me mine was on the street and couldn’t keep the window open past 4am due to noise. But then without cooling system the room became too warm. I’m sure management will find a solution :)

Cool place with a great breakfast. Right next to train station. Our room had a view of the river and mountains. Front desk very nice and helpful.

We were at Hotel Merkur for two days in early May. The rooms were fine - clean, enough room, comfortable beds and we had private bathrooms with showers. Breakfast was included in the price (the best on our entire trip!) and was offered at the very top floor of the hotel. Our host, Andres, was very accommodating and we hope the hotel follows through on plans to open the rooftop cafe for drinks at night. It was spectacular as you can see by the photo I'm attaching. This hotel was the best of our 8 days in Switzerland.

The hotel was located right opposite the train station which was really convenient and good!

This hotel is RIGHT in front of the train station with breathtaking views all around. Interlaken is a hidden gem, I would definitely recommend this.

Worth it

The hotel staff didn’t even bother to help with my heavy luggage when being asked to help. So disappointing! I suggest the hotel to indicate under their hotel information that there will not be someone to help with your luggages even when u asked.

The hotel was across from the train station which made it very convenient. The breakfast was very good. It would have been nice to have a washing machine.
